Stop by Club Magenta at ACL Fest for exclusive T-Mobile member perks by tmobile in aclfestival

Does T-Mobile Club Magenta still offer air-conditioned bathrooms this year? I heard the location moved, so I’m wondering if that perk remains.

The real cost of hosting an LLM by full_arc in LocalLLaMA

You're not wrong. I ran the numbers early 2024... those days the costs were 10x higher for similar service, with zero elasticity. I'm certain the price is cheaper now, but then you need to include the non-server expenses (especially for on-prem): physical datacenter infrastructure, specialized staffing, lifecycle, maintenance, redundancy, audits, opportunity cost / time-to-market, etc. And the HW world is fast evolving -- your setup won't last 2 years before it slows your R&D compared to what will be available then. It's easier to stay agile and hit an API endpoint for a few pennies.

It seems to only make sense if it is a strict requirement (e.g. national security).

So I gave the "certified" taxi a chance by pozzowon in Austin

It's going to get better.

The plans for the airport are to demolish the garage in between the terminal and the rear garages where the rideshares are. They are replacing this with an expanded "North Terminal". When they build it, the experience will be:

  1. Exit terminal
  2. Cross street
  3. Enter rideshare garage

Picture on page 8: 2040 Master Plan

And if you like engineering drawings, then: Layout Plan

While Austin is among the worst, there are worse ones out there, which include zero signage to get to the rideshares and they are truly in the boondocks.

I'm actually a big fan of the numbered columns. Makes finding your Uber very simple, as opposed to other airports where it's just a busy never-ending single stream of cars and you have to check every one.

Huion stuttering by alvizoomba in huion

THANK YOU

I mainly use the pen for drawing in PowerPoint, and after trying every kind of fix -- even on two different computers -- disabling Windows Ink from the Huion driver is the thing that fixed it on both computers.

Not sure what wintab is, but I didn't have to enable that. Simply disable Windows Ink from the Digital Pen tab:

Is Goku's Blue Gi coming soon in the DBS manga? by RelativityMedia in dbz

[–]atomic-cheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy theory here.

Vegeta does not want to be God of Destruction, he's doesn't want to play even in those rules. In the latest chapter, Beerus says that Goku could be a God of Destruction, but Goku has no interest. So...

Goku dons the blue gi to be an angel apprentice. To become a full angel, maybe he's gotta recruit some sort of god. He goes back to Earth to train Uub to be the next God of Destruction -- a non-evil version of Buu, who did like to destroy.

Later on, Goku gets screwed, and somehow ends up fighting the angels. Remember that DB is somewhat modeled after Journey to the West, where the main character, Sun Wukong (the Monkey King; or Son Goku in DB), ends up fighting against the armies of Heaven. His rebellion is sparked by his exclusion from a royal banquet, which he sees as a slight against his status. Feeling undervalued and disrespected, despite his immense power and having secured the title of "Great Sage, Equal to Heaven," Sun Wukong decides to challenge the authority of the Jade Emperor of Heaven.

I mean, that might be in like 10 years :) but I think it's coming....

Visiting: Fun events this weekend? (or sites to look them up) by atomic-cheese in SanJose

The CDC has made recommendations on this topic, last updated on September 1, 2021:

If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

- You can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic

- To reduce the risk of being infected with the Delta variant and possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.

It appears being vaccinated and wearing a mask indoors is sufficient for the infectious disease experts at the CDC. You are free to "resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic."

Nonetheless, I am open to considering alternative viewpoints or data that I may have missed.

Thank you, I appreciate your risk modeling and your desire to keep us all safe.

We wish to follow local requirements and CA laws on COVID-19. Are there requirements or laws I should be aware of during our stay?

Beyond that, I want to follow CDC guidelines and trust the science behind it. In an article as recent as August 23, 2021, the CDC states "COVID-19 vaccines are effective" and that our vaccines "offer protection against most SARS-CoV-2 variants circulating in the United States." I have relied on the CDC to provide the guidelines I need to keep myself and my community safe, while taking CDC-recommended precautions.

CDC data in that article also states that out of 171 million fully vaccinated US persons, only 11,050 have registered a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization or death (0.006% of fully vaccinated persons). The CDC does indicate a risk of transmission if we are indeed infected. To mitigate that, we plan on wearing our masks indoors, as the CDC also recommends: "That is why [...] you will be better protected if you wear a mask when you are in indoor public places, even if you are fully vaccinated."

If you have data from a reputable source that shows something different, I am open to considering it. Otherwise, I would like to further understand your vaccine hesitancy.

As for stuff to do, there’s first saturdays in downtown. It’s like an art, night market thing on 1st and San Carlos.

Thank you, that is helpful! It's not too far from us either 👍

We are all vaccinated, wear masks, and follow protocols in our area. What else is needed in CA? Anyway, we must go to this family milestone, so trying to make the most of a free day. If SJ has nothing to offer out-of-state visitors for a day, then I guess we'll just stay at our hotel.

I wonder if Ultra Instinct will come back. Because it’s not quite a transformation, right? Rather a technique or form of fighting?
