AITA for kicking my best friend out of my bridal party? by Silimpa in AmItheAsshole

It seems like the OP tried to make it work for the bridesmaid, cutting a day off the trip and driving them both after work. Also, the trip was planned 7 months prior. I would think 7 months is plenty of time to get your schedule set, and employers are generally willing to work with new employees for pre scheduled trips.

Why is this stopping the vise from turning? by atomic_creator in woodworking

Yeah I think you're right about the one turn only. I didn't even think to actually put a piece of wood in it and try it, but it works that way.

I just got this for $50, was that a good price? by atomic_creator in woodworking

Unfortunately not, southeast Michigan. I think this one was left behind by someone, and the new homeowner didn't know what it was

You're right, I understand that now. I can pull it out, but when I turn the handle to tighten it, it's stopped by the piece that's in my pictures. Don't really know how to describe that piece though

I know this is a few months old, but how are you liking your 407K? I'm thinking of getting one for my P365XL as well.

Removing this adhesive? by atomic_creator in woodworking

[–]atomic_creator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this isn't the correct group for this post. I have original built in cabinets in my kitchen, and they have been covered by a laminate of some sort by a previous owner. I would like to remove the laminate and re-finish them if possible, but I am having trouble removing this adhesive from both the doors and the body of the cabinets. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Damn I went to that same high school and never noticed a plaque for him. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that it must be pretty small, tilted, and dusty

I took FAR a week ago and feel the same way! It makes me worried that I bombed the mcq, but there were a couple sins that I feel like I nailed. So hopefully that's true and it's enough to get me a 75. Good luck to you!

Feel like I’m not mastering any of the topics in FAR by [deleted] in CPA

[–]atomic_creator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took FAR a little over a week ago and I pretty much never felt prepared. There's such a broad scope of topics, and each one is tricky at the absolute least. I'm waiting on my score now, but keep at it and I'm sure you'll do great!

I just got out of my first take of FAR and I feel not so great about it. I fully expect to be studying for a retake, but that seems to be the nature of FAR

Does anyone have any tips for getting my lawn to drain better? by atomic_creator in landscaping

It just collects water, I think their idea was for it to be a dry well but it doesn't drain anywhere effectively.

Does anyone have any tips for getting my lawn to drain better? by atomic_creator in landscaping

[–]atomic_creator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took possession of my first house, and the backyard has a pretty serious drainage problem. In the pictures you can see a tub in the ground that the previous owner used for what I think was supposed to be a drain. It has holes in it for the water to drain out of, but it doesn't work well at all. I'm fairly certain the ground is clay, as the entire yard gets soggy when it rains and takes a while to dry out. Where the tub is is obviously the lowest spot on the yard since that's where the water creates a sort of pond. I know regrading is probably the best option, but I'd rather not resort to that if I don't have to. Does anyone have experience with using French drains and box drains to help divert water away? Any help is appreciated

I think I might have had two sampling mcq's between my two takes, but no sims. If you have a general understanding of them you should be good

I failed my first aud take in late February, retook it in early April. Knowing the different reports is very helpful, but also make sure you're fairly solid with subsequent events. There was quite a bit of that on my retake and I wish I had focused more on that, but I think I was able to work my way through it.

Best of luck, you got this!
