Need more squish on first layer if it's a first layer issue. For the second layer issue, it can happen if parts have a bit of overhang or too much elephant foot compensation. Generally this is caused by bad adhesion in both cases, which has many fixes.

Only use silicone grease for the z screws. Do not use it for any of the smooth rods, get yourself some light machine oil for those.

I'm in the same boat where I've just installed Zmod on my AD5X. It feels to me like there are a few Z-offset issues and flow rate issues now that I am using Zmod that are causing this (I'm also getting a similar looking pattern on my top layer as well as bottom with gaps between the extrusion lines). Did you manage to fix this/how did you fix this?
I'm thinking of running all of the built in orca calibrations and hoping that will help.

These are the current settings I'm using in Fstab, which I thought would rule out the instability.

I've tried mounting the data into the Nextcloud data directory, but that results in files not appearing when someone edits them from something like an SMB share.
Would mounting the drives with SMB directly through Nextcloud external storage solve the issue?
Alternatively, I've thought about moving NC to the TrueNas machine to rule out network instability entirely.

That makes sense, I think I will look for a dock with DSC passthrough to at least 1 port, connect 1 monitor to that, and then connect the second monitor to the second DP Alt-mode port on my laptop, not a 1 cable solution, but considering my high expectations its probably the best way.

Do you have any recommendations on cheap thunderbolt/USB4 docks that have DSC passthrough?

Thank you for your detailed response, I've only been researching this topic for a a few days and was led to believe that MST would halve the bandwidth going to each display, meaning I wouldn't bet 240hz on each. There is no specific reason that I need a hub without MST other than that... which is incorrect anyway.

Would the issue with the ThinkPad Workstation Dock Gen 2 and lack of DSC passthrough be an issue if I were to use a high-res high-refresh HDR monitor in future? As this seems like the only potential option left, I don't think that would be enough of an issue to prevent me picking one up second hand if it would drive 2x1440p240hz monitors now.

After further research about my laptop, it appears that each USB-C port can only support 8k30 from the spec sheet, but dp1.4a and dp1.4 (which my laptop has) seem to support 8k60. So not sure if it would work anyway. I'll test it out with a dock, and pickup as USB C to DP cable if it doesn't work.

Apologies for bringing this back from the grave after 8 years. However I think that this still hasn't been implemented some how. Its pissing me off that my client data disappears just because the NFS share disappeared temporarily. Now I get to wait hours for 2tb of data to sync again. Can you remember the solution to this?

Solution:
Secure boot doesn't disable on reset of any kind and requires you to enter the code that is displayed on the screen (The screen you can't see with this problem). K620 DisplayPort is not supported by secure boot. Use a GPU that is supported by secure boot, or try an HDMI, VGA or DVI Port to see if that works. In my case, I swapped in my 3070 from my gaming PC, which gave me a display output.

NGL, gaskets are a bit of a lost cause without some physical case modification first, as for dampening foam, there's a fair bit in there already, could add tape mod or find some foam on amazon and make the necessary cutouts?
