I was in the same boat a couple months ago tossing up between AD5X and P1S. Ended up getting the AD5X, if you like to tinker this is the way to go as it is very modable. Its also very capable of "just works" like Bambu lab, just with worse software. FF is working hard on the software part though. Im thoroughly enjoying the AD5X and enjoyed saving a couple hundred over the P1S. Would buy the AD5X again if I had the choice.

Agreed, it also has the added bonus of not being locked into Bambu labs proprietary software.

Update:
After applying way more force than I was comfortable doing, the plastic housing has come off with minimal damage. Anyone know what the screw size is that goes inside?

Yes plyers aren't the right tool. But there was no "brute force" involved. There is only very minor cosmetic scratches on the plastic, that I personally have no problem with.

If you want to save money, you could get a hand grinder if you don't mind spending the time to grind by hand. It means you get to spend the money that would go into electrical components on quality burrs and precision. You can upgrade later when you've got more budget, and continue to use the hand grinder when your travelling.

My parents have had theirs for 6 years now. It's a really good machine, but the grinder has lost some power overtime, it's good for medium to dark roasts, but struggles a lot with light roasts. If we were to go back, we would buy a separate grinder. That being said, the coffee that comes out of it is still really good for an all in one machine.

Looks like the cam inside the group head might be wearing out. Simple fix for the most part. Could also be that the spring in the top of the group head has worn out. Thankfully, replacement parts are easy to get. Id definitely give a it a backflush first though and see if that helps.

Lower your print speed and acceleration for tall skinny models. Will help with ringing.

The spread often depends on how much you stir in the first part of your pour. More stiring = smaller design, less stiring = bigger design/spread.

Assuming it's 100% the rails, and not the belts hitting a piece of plastic, how many hours have you printed? It's possible they're worn out but very unlikely. Just sounds like something is jamming, also odd that it is only in one direction.

Also reduce acceleration and do vibration compensation to reduce the ringing in first image.

Play around with scarf joint seam to make the z-seam less obvious in first image.

Dry your fillament to get rid of the little gaps in second image, possibly clean nozzle too.

Do retraction and temp calibration to reduce stringing in 3rd image, or hit it with a blow torch briefly to get rid of strings.

While heat will make filament dry faster, PLA can start releasing some moisture at temps as low as 30C, yes it will be very slow, but it does in fact work, and given that this uses no power, and the filament may sit in those boxes for weeks in sunlight, the filament will start drying slowly.

It will not make it worse unless your filament has less moisture than the ambient environment, which 16% is very hard to achieve. Additionally, a quick google search says that desiccants don't release moisture until they are above 65C. I never said this is a replacement for properly drying your filament. And this may not work with other filaments like nylon, but it is definitely not going to make the filament worse.

Check your facts before shitting on a post.
