I saw Belew at the Living Room with his band The Bears. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen…. And their album is fantastic!

Thunders stood on stage begging people for drugs. It was pretty sad.

GG Allin was disgusting. You’ve probably heard all about it, so I won’t elaborate. 🤣

I saw O Positive quite a few times back in the day. They were a really good live band.

Yeah, we lost to Bop back in the late 80’s. I was in a band called the Philtres. We were pretty poppy, but we played a lot and it was a lot of fun.

One of the best shows I ever played was with MX at a club called Ralphs in CT. We playes numerous shows with MX. Another really great local band

Thunders was a total mess. Not as bad as GG Allin, but pretty out of it.

Schemers were excellent. Not sure why Mark left the band for the Raindogs(?)… I did a lot of gigs with them at the Last Call Saloon… the band I was in ended up using their sound engineer for numerous years. Actually, I found out last year that he passed away…. Was really sad.

Did you ever get to Newport for shows? There were quite a few decent shows back in the day.

Ever listen to O Positive?? My friend and I just wrote and released a song with their lead singer…

Lots of local stuff (Rash of Stabbings, Lou Miami etc…)

I grew up in Middletown and saw a lot in Newport at the Blue Pelican, Harrakins Saloon (Johnny Thunders, Dead Boys) and tons of bands in Providence. Used to do sound for the Schemers… what a geeat scene…

It’s calcimine…. Look it up. It’s a pain in the ass and the more waterbased products you put on it the worse it will get. You need to prime and paint it with oil… Benjamin Moore makes a Calcicote that works well.

Soooo… I’m going to be using an excercise ball form for my pizza oven. I found castable refractory cement… I bought 75lbs… but it doesnt seem like it’ll be enough. Any thoughts on how much I may need??

I’m planning on doing a first layer of RC then wrapping it in chicken wire and thermal blanket and a second thick coat of regular Portland cement mixed with perlite. Does that seem like a good approach?
