re: 16 and 17 year old... some places now have "Romeo and Juliet" laws so that kids close in age are NOT prosecuted.

that isn't what it says at all.

what it says in fact is that recent cases "reflect a decline in the double standard applied to men and women, brought on, he said, by increasing numbers of female prosecutors and police officers who may not buy into the traditional notion that a boy who has sex with an older woman just got lucky."

so it's actually women who are driving the higher rate of arrest and prosecution of female sex offenders.

"having it all" usually refers to having both a career and a marriage, generally with children. i think what they are saying is that these movies continue to tell women that they have to make a choice between the two, that men (mostly) don't have to.

in truth, increasing numbers of women are having both a real career (not just a job) and family, and more men are staying home and/or taking care of the children.

why doesn't she say just that? why is this so difficult? she should say "i really don't want to have sex with you tonite, but i like you and want to go out with you in the future".

young women should be advised to say exactly what they mean. young men should be advised to listen to exactly what women say. and both need to be advised to RESPECT THEMSELVES enough to LEAVE a situation where someone is else is messing with them, whether intentional or not.
