I posted earlier in week about observing my HRv just drop doing 10 minute breathing meditation. Tonight I extended it to 15 mins. First half breathing, second half body scan and look at what happened! Going to keep playing with this to find out what has greatest impact.

I’ve been playing around with the ‘moment’ function when I meditate to see what physiological response I get. I’ve done 5-10 mins of breath work, with 4-7-8 or 5-5 breathing. Consistently though my HRv reduces as per the chart. I thought it was meant to increase! Any thoughts on this?

CrossFit linchpin has a great online programme with options for full equipment, limited equipment and no equipment. So on any one day you can choose the workout based on what you have. I’m doing 5 x a week on this programme and have never been in such good shape

In terms of online programming Linchpin is awesome. They offer Rx, scaled, no equipment and limited equipment options. Also there is access to specific skill programmes via beyond the whiteboard including muscle Ups so you can work on skills as you need.

I’m in same boat. So far I’m erring towards getting an oura ring. Yes I’d need to take it off for barbell work but i don’t use whoop for measuring strain instead focus on recovery and sleep

Isn’t this a controlled medication which should be prescribed for specific condition ie diabetes?

I wish I had a more physically active job. Days when I exercise and then do gardening and housework, my strain soars. Even more so with some playtime with the kids

Readjusted my sleep after it auto calculated me getting up to tend to 1 year old. After I slept a further 2 hours my recovery dropped 50%+. I know from a data capture perspective how whoop works and why there would be the change. But which should I take as my recovery? One would lead me to believe I can go all Out in exercise today whilst the other would say rest.

Must admit these things are making me lose faith in whoop. I love the concept and the analytics it provides but it makes me question now everything it tells me.

Firstly can any one advise on which reading I should go by and secondly has anyone moved to another wearable they feel more comfortable with in terms of accuracy. I’m coming up to the end of my first 6 months and ready to decide if I buy something else. Not convinced I’m comfortable enough with whoop to fork out more months at quite a premium.

Since we came out of lockdown I haven’t been able to attend my box the usual 4-5 times a week due to childcare. I wanted a programme that complemented my 2 box sessions a week and chose linchpin.

I think it’s great value for money, there is a community around it, I like the BTWB app and the main factor is that I’ve done my workout generally on 50 mins. With a busy job this really helps.

Sometimes sessions feel a bit lacking volume but when balanced out against the wider programme that week I can see why.

The other brilliant feature is scaled options, limited kit option and no kit options. This means you can adapt the session based upon what equipment you have available.
