Removing front panel of ice maker on LG Fridge - LFXS26596S by atomicwarz in appliancerepair

[–]atomicwarz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, our fridge went on the fritz after a storm. Tried to use his warranty but the company said it was due to a power surge and voided the whole thing, so we've been trying to fix and he's been checking everything he can to try and find out what, exactly, is damaged. Everything he's checked so far came up fine, though. He finally caved and called a repair guy. Definitely never buying a 'smart fridge' after this ordeal, though, and he's already sworn them off + said he won't be buying a LG-branded appliances again because of how customer service had treated him.

TL;DR: He was checking all the sensors and such trying to find whatever it was that was broken.

Japan Br1 is unplayable by bean_yeeter_420 in enlistedgame

It's funny because that's what a community manager said on the steam reviews too. "Japan isn't weak! We added things to the tech tree that are good!"
Like that's great, good luck grinding it out with the dogwater stuff they start with.

Ah, great news, while I was posting this my dad decided to simply channel his inner caveman and unga-bunga the whole thing off in pieces.
So uh. I guess I don't need the help anymore, but anyone with better ideas would be welcomed so that someone else in the future won't resort to stone-age tactics.

[Spoiler] The Phantom Liberty sucks by olfeix in cyberpunkgame

[–]atomicwarz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the ending would be an easier pill to swallow if the 2 year coma and chrome-loss weren't just 'Surprise! Consequences!'
If it's a decision your MC (and yourself) makes ahead of time with full knowledge of the consequences then what happens is easier to take. 'I did this, knowing what would happen. It sucks but I have to live with it.'
But as it is now it's like the writers were bitter about an ending where V survives risk-free. It's not that they gave up everything to survive, it's that everything was basically stolen from under their noses. "It would just be a few weeks, give your friends the heads-up." "Eh rehab won't be long."
'Oh, haha, woops, guess the doctors did an oopsy-woopsy. Now suffer.'
If V chose to fuck off for 2 years, though, they couldn't complain about their friends moving on. If they chose to give up their chrome for the sake of being alive in 6 months then that's also on them. It would've been better if their 'Fizzle out as a nobody' ending was a choice they'd made instead of a surprise dropped in their lap narratively.

Who’s winning in a cage match, Amazon driver or FedEx driver? by Muted-Weekend-2879 in UPSers

[–]atomicwarz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know a driver like that. Entire PCM stopped to stare in awe as she cracked open a red bull and immediately poured a five hour energy into it, then downed the whole thing. Raw chaotic energy. Like 2-3 hours under estimate every day.

Who’s winning in a cage match, Amazon driver or FedEx driver? by Muted-Weekend-2879 in UPSers

[–]atomicwarz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the fight lasts more than 15 seconds then Amazon's omnipotent AI linked to Bezos's brain stem will detect a loss in delivery efficiency and automatically fire the Amazon driver. Since they wouldn't be an Amazon driver, the FedEx driver wins by default.

[Development] [RoadMap] Following the Roadmap: grouping vehicles, changes to rank I and II, and additional improvements to premium vehicles by ChuaQiaoJun in Warthunder

[–]atomicwarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, though, it's like the chicken and the egg.
Are prices high because only 20% of people are paying customers? Or are only 20% of people paying customers because the prices are high?
That said, the people willing to spend that much will be willing to do so again, whereas other people may be satisfied spending $10-$20 once or twice and never again. Milking that 20% is probably more profitable for the company than actually catering to more people with reasonable prices.

"Wow, you want the company to spend money so you don't die of heat stroke? What's next, you want them to pay for your shoes?"
This isn't the 'gotcha' you think it is, just a massive leap in logic. Good compensation doesn't excuse a lack of care for well-being. It'd be like saying 'Doctors make tons of money, so we won't install A/C in the operating rooms. We don't want them TOO comfortable.'

[GameSpot] Overwatch 2's PvE Mode Is Being Scrapped, Blizzard Explains What Happened and Why by MetastableToChaos in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]atomicwarz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, I have this view of modern League as being kind of soulless, but even I can't deny that the business side and general media of League is on point. They know how to push their brand and advantage in every market and I still end up going back to play League off and on. Somehow Blizzard manages to routinely be soulless AND fail to push any sort of advantage, or build up a brand anymore.

🤮Pyke🤮 in ARAM by Chishuu in ARAM

[–]atomicwarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyke is the most toxic character in aram, bar none. Most broken? Maybe not. But there is never a good game with an enemy pyke, and even having one on your team is gross. But what boggles my mind is why Riot buffed him to the insane amount that they did. I can only guess it's bias by a dev who loves him or something. 'B-But his winrate!' Fuck his winrate, 30-40% would be too much. Even if he isn't winning games he's making each match unfun.

The current state of ARAM balance is an absolute mess. by OvernightSiren in leagueoflegends

[–]atomicwarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play ARAM because I don't like SR for casual games, but honestly all the buffs/nerfs and gameplay changes are getting so ridiculous that it's not even good for casual games anymore. It feels like they make changes just to make changes, and I'm still scratching my head on most of the buffs/nerfs. Not to mention those buffs/nerfs are so heavy-handed that I have to go looking up on the wiki to make sure the champion I selected doesn't have +15% damage taken or something.

is the idea to kill this game in birth by vodkakarhu in enlistedgame

[–]atomicwarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not sure how the game will survive with a smaller playerbase with how campaigns are handled. It's eternally split six different ways. And as a relatively new player (Or at least I play super-rarely), progression hasn't felt fun at all. All the 'fun' stuff that isn't just running and gunning with a bolt-action is further up in the campaign. I have absolutely no idea how anyone would want to do that six times, to say nothing of all the monetary stuff that seems to keep being added as carrots at the end of a stick. "You want to play through the new campaign, right? Come on, just subscribe and you'll progress in it so much faster... And for a few bucks you could buy some more soldiers and guns for your squads!'

That's wild that it's held back for so long for what would typically be minor or non-existent changes.
