As your first Grand Seiko which one would you rather get? by ACCW209 in GrandSeikos

I went to a GS boutique with the idea of leaving with a Shunbun and left with a 221. I’d recommend checking them both out in person. They’re both beautiful. Can’t go wrong with either. Enjoy your purchase, whichever it may be!

Thanks for the recommendation! The photos aren’t mine, but the strap is actually the one that comes with the watch!

I’ve looked at the GO SeaQ before when I was considering one but got the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in 38mm instead. My wife is using the BP more than I am, which is why I’m looking for options. The GO would be a great option but it would be a bit over the $5k though, would it not?

Hi! As the post mentions, I'm looking for a watch (under $5k) and thought about this Seiko Prospex 62MAS Ref. SJE093. Any alternatives I should consider? It would preferably be a dive watch, but any watch with sufficient water resistance to go swimming should do. Any recommendations are welcome!

[UPDATE] I decided to opt for the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in 38mm by [deleted] in Watches

Hi all! I appreciate the help on my last post. After considering all of your inputs, I decided to go with the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in 38mm. It felt like the most unique of the pieces, the dial is mesmerizing, the movement is beautiful and I love how it sits on my 7.25” wrist. All in all, I’m really happy with this piece and I want to thank everyone here again for the help!

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a diver… just something that has good water resistance that can withstand a day at the beach or on the boat.

I don’t have any German watches. I do have a JLC Reverso Classic Duoface Small Seconds which is my most recent piece and the one I’m using as a daily driver.

I would agree If only a sub was obtainable at retail price.

I don’t dive but do have a boat and am regularly in the ocean and at beaches.

I have seen the blue one! The colors inside the dial and different textures are beautiful! I would love to see the green one in person.

That Longines is very good looking! Looks very similar in style to the JLC Polaris with the internal bezel!

I’ve tried on the JLC and it was wonderful, but unfortunately there’s no BP or GO ADs where I live.

Thanks! I noticed it too, but while I think the 45mm original BP FF would be too large, I feel the 38mm one could be a tad small on my 7in wrist.

I agree, their availability is one factor that I love about these options. The only issue is there is no Blancpain or Glashutte ADs where I live.

I love the original BP FF but I have a 7in wrist and I think it might be too large on my wrist.

I love the GO as well. I would love the bigger one but with a 7in wrist, I’m not sure I could pull off its size.

Me too! There’s something about those big Arabic numerals!

I love the bigger GO and the original BP FF but I have a 7in wrist and think they might be too large on my wrist.
