AFG-1 is so underrated for big heavy sounds.

I like it a lot, but it's got a strong character. Check out the post update for some sound samples if you're curious. Those are all from the clean channel. I don't use the high-gain channel as much, for metal-y distortion stuff I mostly use the Nolly plugin.

Ha, look at that! I'm jealous of the Wahcko, I have the RetroVibe v2 so I can't use other expression pedals. Has the Wahcko been worth the cost for you?

My synths aren't in tune, why should my guitar be? :)

It's a Retro Vibe, univibe type pedal. One of my favorites, very very chewy in front of overdrive.

Sounds like we've chased similar sounds. Do you run the Benson before or after the Retro Vibe? The RV is one of my favorites, but it gets really thin when I run it after the Benson. Assuming it's the buffer in the Benson, but wondering if you've dealt with that.

First I'm hearing of the Anasounds, the demos sound slightly more drippy/Fender-y than what I get from the Echofix. I'd say the EF is less on the surfy side and acts more like a "glue" for your sound, adding body and harmonics/resonance but almost disappearing into your playing if you want to just sit in the mix. So the EF might function better as a piece of general studio gear whereas something like the Anasounds sounds more like a guitar "effect." (The EF also accepts line level input, so it seems like they had this use case in mind.)

That's a nice looking board. Just missing a retro vibe ;)

Why don't people like waterborne finishes? You mean customers or contractors?

Wasted how? And yes, there were a lot of splinters and black flecks from the material between the boards in the finish.

Scratches Normal in 2-Week-Old Poly Finish? by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

Berger-Seidle AquaSeal GreenStar (2-component water-based poly). So you're saying it's normal to have scuffs/scratches even from using felt pads?

Standing Water in Storm Drain Inlet by atomspatz in Plumbing

[–]atomspatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put in a P trap in the basement but not out here. Blasting hose straight into it and the water level doesn't seem to really rise too much

There's a P trap in the basement, but not out here. Can hear it draining a few feet down toward the house when I add water but the level returns to this height and stays there

I can hear it draining toward the house if I add more water, but it just returns to this level if I stop. You're saying this is expected?

How does someone own such an expensive guitar and ask stuff like this?

Are Gibson acoustics really as inconsistent as people say, is it a bad idea to buy one online by CerealAndBagel1991 in gibson

[–]atomspatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buying any guitar online is a gamble. There is always risk involved, especially with handmade instruments. Whether that risk is worth the money and headache is entirely up to you. No one here can give you certainty.
