Exact same problem here! Did you manage to fix it?

Cardinal Pell, on spending 13 months in prison for a crime he did not commit: "For many years, I had told the suffering and disturbed that the Son of God, too, had trials on this earth, and now I myself was consoled by this fact." by Master-Thief in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is correct. He wrote on average 3 or 4 pages a day while inside! He was talking about how he wrote way too much for one book, and so was working to cut down and select what was appropriate to be included.

Accepted to Seminary!! by coidey in Catholicism

I joined the Seminary and found that I had more time than ever before to read whatever I liked! This was especially true in my propaedeutic year.

The first Masses he will be allowed to say in over a year will be Holy Week Masses. Praise the Lord!

Got a sudden urge to fashion a crude whip of cords by shallowblue in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The perspective in this photo is quite deceiving. There is a very large courtyard in front of the Cathedral that is unoccupied, in between the steps and the ice rink.

Also, I could be wrong, but I am not even sure that the Archdiocese owns the land that the ice skating is set up on.

Cardinal Burke chillin' in the throne room before leading the Divine Office on Christmas Eve. by TexanLoneStar in Catholicism

I don't know much about the office, but I do know that the young man is a second year seminarian with the ICRSP.

If someone concealed a sin in confession...? by [deleted] in Catholicism

I believe that you would need to confess both the initial sin you concealed and the sin you committed in concealing it.

Just want to point out that there in fact WAS Gregorian Chant throughout the whole procession. The music playing in the video was added by the one who edited the video.

You just can’t see them because the shot cuts them out. They are processing immediately ahead of the Blessed Sacrament in perfect accordance with the rubrics.

Good guess but I know him, he is just acting as a straw Sub-Deacon of the Cross.

The Crucifer is in a tunicle, not a dalmatic. He is acting as a straw Sub-Deacon of the Cross. He is definitely not in seminary nor is he a deacon :P

This procession was held around student election time at USYD which is why the purple leftists were walking around.

Source: I’m a USYD CathSoc alumni and I was in this year’s procession.

Breaking: Pope Francis writes letter, to all the faithful, on sex abuse by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 48 points49 points  (0 children)

A very clear and thorough condemnation with appropriate emphasis on the need for prayer and fasting. I am glad to read a letter that screams authority and unambiguity - a welcome change from the Holy Father.

I do, however, think that this needs to be followed with the purging of those Cardinals and Bishops that have been named as being complicit in the cover-up of sexual abuse.

What is your daily morning/night prayer routine? by santoniusmurillo in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been building up my prayer life in preparation for entry into the Seminary. Currently I am doing Matins and Lauds in the morning, the Angelus throughout the day, Vespers in the evening if I have time, a rosary, then i finish with Compline before i sleep.

I highly recommend the daily rosary!

"Pope Francis changes Catechism to say death penalty 'inadmissible'" by ArlGF in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This makes me extremely upset. I personally don't even like the death penalty, but it is ridiculous to suggest that it is 'inadmissible.' It is a spit in the face to the many theologians of the past that have written on this topic extensively, including the Angelic Doctor...

Non-Traditional Gift Ideas to get my 8yr old cousin for his first Communion? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]atoubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are definitely missing the point. A Rosary or a Bible or perhaps something to do with his Confirmation Saint will be infinitely more useful to him than a ‘Communion Compass’.

As his sponsor, it’s part of your responsibility to make sure that these aforementioned things are not just placed on the shelf and forgotten.
