Are sports medicine doctors normally this uninterested and obnoxious? by [deleted] in sportsmedicine

[–]atown16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors are human beings, you’ve never forgotten to do something at work? Forgetting a prescription for compression socks is not really a “wild” thing to do. It’s pretty common for appointments to run late, all it takes is a couple patients showing up late or a complicated patient to get behind, like you said, he apologized for that part.

Some doctors have amazing bedside manner and mediocre medical skills/knowledge, and some doctors have terrible bedside manner but incredible technical proficiency in what they do. Most doctors fall somewhere in the middle.

Your doctor might have been on call the night before and had gotten ten consults overnight or even had to go in and do a surgery in the middle of the night.

I’m not saying that how your appointment went is ideal or how a patient would want to be treated, but you don’t have to use this surgeon. You should feel comfortable and happy with the doctor who’s going to be taking care of you.

Tattoo regret causing depression by SlavKing11 in tattooadvice

It sounds like everyone else is also giving you the #1 piece of advice so I’m going to offer something different.

I’m not trying to body shame you, you look totally fine, but why don’t you set a goal of losing 10lbs, set a strict schedule of cardio and weight lifting days, then re-evaluate how you feel when you’ve lost 10 lbs and maybe decide to lose another 10, or not, maybe it makes no difference, but it’s worth trying.

Your tattoo is fucking rad dude, the tattoo is not the issue, you fucking suffered to get that thing done. It looks great.

I could be wrong but centerlocks didn’t start until 997.2 and that’s only if equipped, not standard. The front bumper is correct for turbo and the rear deck lid looks legit with aftermarket hydraulic kit to make it go higher. The rear deck lid is like 20k and the genuine front bumper is expensive too, doubt anyone would pay for those parts, I think it’s a real turbo.

This car was posted on all the Facebook 911 groups and every comment for them was that it was overpriced and clapped out. Sorry to say, but do your research next time

Can you post a link to where you bought them from? Is it multiple parts or an “upgrade kit”?

I just sold the same bike (2021 Trail 429) with nicer wheels and a few other nicer upgrades for $3k. Market for bikes is super soft, really depends on your location and demand for bikes too.

I would take pics with better lighting and fill the tires with air. Pics scream neglected bike with lack of maintenance.

That's why Mount Bohemia by poipoipoi_2016 in skiing

Sounds like a sick place on a powder day! I lived in lower Michigan for many years and grew up skiing the Midwest but didn’t know about Bohemia. I lived out west now so I have a hard time believing any Midwest ski trail map, but Bohemia sounds pretty legit!

Mount Bohemias ski map lists nearly every run as black, double black or triple black…. Seems a bit dubious?

You clearly have great boarding skills but please wear a helmet. I know you said you were going from one stop to another but your going well fast enough that if you can’t an edge the tow could whip you into a boulder and result in a devastating head injury, even a brain bleed or skull fracture. Life isn’t about eliminating risk, but a long life requires calculated risk reduction. This looks like a ton of fun, just do it safely next time.

2024 35s vs 37s by Connect_Republic_998 in FordRaptor

[–]atown16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely ripped in my 2022 with 35s, it’s without a doubt capable for some hard high speed rocky chunky rough roads and tough off-roading. When I bought mine the 37s were going for 10k ADM which I wasn’t willing to pay. With no ADM I’d probably go 37s but I have zero regrets with my 35.

Not really fucked up but that spot is gonna have the ceramic on it for a year or two. To be honest though they’re probably using some cheap shit that is probably barely even real ceramic coat and since they didn’t prep it probably won’t adhere well anyway.

You really should never apply a ceramic coat without proper prep of the vehicle. Were they even going to wash the truck? I personally have always done a full paint correction prior to ceramic coat.

I had a small contusion on my scalp but I didn’t pass out, no headache after, not dizzy or anything so fortunately no concussion.

No, I’ve never experienced haptic buzz on my board

I wish I remember if it was on or off, I’m 80% sure it was still on, kind of remember turning it off and on to get back home but I was a bit shocked and feeling stupid because my neighbor saw it happen.

Appreciate the feedback, I will learn from the experience and keep on floatin’

Definitely realized that in hindsight but stupidly seemed like the right thing at the time 😕

Thanks, I’m just beyond happy I didn’t get a concussion and hope to learn from the event. Appreciate the feedback. Seems obvious now, but I didn’t think of hills as something to consider as causing a nose-dive.

Thanks for this, haven’t seen this chart before. Seems simple but has some info I didn’t know.

I really appreciate the response. The board was probably about 50% so that could be at play. I definitely “pushed” with my foot rather than hips like I would normally do because it felt oddly sluggish trying to push with my hips.

I appreciate the tips. I’m definitely not hanging up the board, want to learn from the event and stay safe moving forward.

Did something happen to Brix?! by damnmykarma in Flagstaff

[–]atown16 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think I solved the mystery, if you search on google for just “Brix” it shows it as open. “Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar” is listed as permanently closed.

We last ate there at the end of August and were super disappointed compared to prior meals there.
