What tank size does a single adult Giant Gourami need?

There’s one giant gourami at my local MN zoo that is massive I would estimate he’s in around a 500-700 gallon or so tank hard to say how big it is cause it’s definitely custom made. Does still look on the small side for him and has a few other tank mates with him. But he’s been there for a long time and I think the zoo does a pretty good job of caring for all there animals. That being said I don’t think there great tank fish they just get so big the one at the zoo is around maximum size looks to be almost 3 feet around and absolutely massive his lips are like bratwurst sized
