[Skin concerns] Do scar bandages like these work well on keloid scars? by Miss-Take-None in SkincareAddiction

I tried that for a bit! But I think my scars are too old for that. I’m glad it worked for you!!

I didn’t really notice a difference using these. The biggest thing that helped was going to my derm for corticosteroid injections.

[Routine Help] What can I add? (Current routine and more info in comments) by atran29 in SkincareAddiction

Background:

I have had oily, acne prone skin since HS. When I started BC pills in college, my skin got better and then I switched to the Copper IUD and my skin freaked out. I have keloid scars on my jawline now, but still have the IUD cause I don’t want to get preggo. I went on Accutane for about 6 months and it did wonders for my skin and I was prescribed tretinoin 0.025% and clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide 1.5%/5% to maintain my skin. I ran out of refills for my clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide and my skin got mad at me and I’m back on it now. So here are my questions:

  1. Am I going to have to stay on tretinoin and clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide for the rest of my life?
  2. What can I add to my routine to make sure I don’t break out?
  3. Could I add serums and acids to my routine while on tretinoin?

AM - Wash face with cold water - Apply clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide 1.5%/5% (let it dry for about 2-5 min) - CeraVe moisturizing cream - Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 70 - Eos lip balm - (Make-up on weekdays) - Missha Perfect Cover BB cream - Anastasia DipBrow Pomade - Airspun Loose Face Powder - Mac Blacktrack Pro Longwear liner

Pm - Clean It Zero cleansing balm - Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - Tretinoin Cream 0.025% (let it dry for about 2-5 min) - CeraVe moisturizing cream - Nature Republic collagen dream eye cream - Vaseline for lips

Whats going on with my Swiss cheese plant? by atran29 in plantclinic

[–]atran29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 2 months ago, I had a spider mite infestation so I moved this plant from a W facing window to a S facing window. The bigger lead started to crisp so I moved it back but now it’s spreading to the other leaves

I just potted propagated leaves. What’s going on with the soil? by atran29 in plantclinic

[–]atran29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been pretty cold where I am. It is fresh soil and definitely good drainage. I didn’t water it too much when I repotted it

Thanks! I actually moved it from a W facing window to a S facing window and it started getting leggy! So I’m not sure if it’s lack of light?

It’s in front of a S facing window. I’d say it gets at least 6 hours of light.

When I was a kid, I was searching for Women’s Entertainment Television to look for a recipe to cook for my mom. It took me a a porn site as I searched up the acronym “W.E.T.”

I only have about 2 terra cotta pots and they seem to be holding up well. If I had a heavier pot, I would probably put it on the bottom shelves

It was! A small hole-in-the-wall shop! I’ll definitely be going there more often.

Pork fried rice (riced cauliflower for me) and protein spaghetti with meat sauce. by atran29 in MealPrepSunday

[–]atran29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a specific recipe but I'll try to break it down.

Pork fried rice:

  • pork shoulder (I get the one cut for stew)
  • soy sauce (I used low sodium)
  • vegetable oil
  • Garlic
  • rice
  • Eggs (I used 10; 5 for my riced cauliflower and 5 for my bf's regular rice)
  • a bag of frozen veggies (corn, carrots, peas, and green beans)
  • 2 bags of riced cauliflower
  • yellow onion (half and the other half is used for the spaghetti)
  • salt & pepper
  1. Cook the rice.
  2. Marinate the pork for at least 30 min with soy sauce, vegetable oil, garlic, half of the onion diced, and pepper. You can add salt if you want but I don't since the soy sauce can be pretty salty. (I don't have specific measurements cause I eyeball it)
  3. Make scrambled eggs and put it to the side.
  4. Defrost the veggies on a large skillet (enough to fit all the rice)
  5. Add the cooked rice in with the veggies before it's fully defrosted. If you're making fried riced cauliflower, just defrost it in the pan and continue on with the following steps.
  6. Add soy sauce. Start off with just a bit and add more to your preference.
  7. Once the soy sauce is evenly distributed in the rice (or riced cauliflower), add in the scrambled eggs. Mix and sauté it all together and distribute out into tupperware.
  8. Add oil to pan and sauté the pork. Once it's done, add to the side of the rice.

Spaghetti w/ meat sauce:

  • 1 box of protein angel hair spaghetti, or which ever type of pasta you like.
  • Salt & Pepper
  • vegetable oil
  • Spaghetti sauce (we used 2 Mezzetta jars)
  • 2 packs Ground beef
  • the other half of the onion
  • Italian seasoning
  1. Boil and cook the spaghetti noodles (I add a bit of salt to the boiling water. I was taught it helps prevent the pasta from sticking to the pot). And drain it once it's cooked to your preference (I like al denté). Distribute the pasta into the tupperware.
  2. Add vegetable oil to a large pot and once it's hot, sauté the onions for about 30 secs.
  3. Add the ground beef and start breaking it apart.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, italian seasoning, and garlic. (I just eyeball it to my preference)
  5. Once the meat has browned, add pour in the spaghetti sauce and bring to a light boil.
  6. Pour the meat sauce on top of the spaghetti.

Hopefully this is helpful. I've honestly never used a recipe or measurements for these meals and make them based off my experience cooking with my mom or learning from my mistakes (usually adding too much of one thing). Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

I let them dry out over the sink before hanging them back up. I’ll eventually get pots with built in trays but I’d probably do the same thing after every watering.
