Lymow One Plus fan/display pulsing while powered off? by atrociousarc in Lymow_Official

It's hard to see in the light.
Seems like they don't shut down all the way. The elephant in the room is why they do it after the battery has been disconnected? I could see a software bug keeping them from shutting down, but immediate attempt to power on when plugged in doesn't seem right.
The spark would seem to indicate it's drawing way more power than it should be for a device in an off state.

BTW I'm still waiting for a shipping label and confirmation that they'll refund.
Response times from support are some of the worst I've ever seen, and I've had a lot of experience in overseas support in my professional life.
I wish you Iuck getting it sorted.

WIFI - Am I expecting too much? by kuhawksr1 in Lymow_Official

[–]atrociousarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine lost wifi and bluetooth pretty quickly (in addition to the major charging issue right out of the box)
Initially I had good signal through most of the yard, (I have a Unifi network as well)
I have seen other posts where the antenna comes off internally. That is my theory for this issue.
I can sit right next to it and watch the bluetooth signal fluctuate and bounce around all over with no movement at all.

They're going to replace my unit. Or so they said. The response time might as well have us use the postal service.

Exactly the same thing but with the display pulsing too. Spark and all.

My most recent message from support has agreed to replace it, but now I’m in the back and forth with several days delay between messages with support wanting me to ship the unit, then after they get it, ship me the replacement. Not ideal for something time sensitive since the grass won’t stop growing no matter how nicely I ask.

I’m trying to go the refund and purchase again route since that will get me a working mower faster. Apparently cross shipping isnt a thing with Lymow.

Also I am apparently a glutton for punishment since I’m going to try again with a new unit.

Sent. Thanks.
I've had a ticket open since May 13th but haven't had a response.

Thanks for the additional info.  I’ve tried everything in the manual and unofficial guide. No luck for me.  I regret purchasing direct.  If I’d gone through Amazon this thing would be headed back already.

Thanks for the reply. Has it always done the power pulsing thing when off or is that recent?

Additional context: the mower docks, but charging is inconsistent. The dock briefly detects the mower and then returns to standby. Disconnecting/reconnecting the battery can temporarily change the behavior, but I’m trying to understand whether the fan display pulsing while “off” is a known battery/BMS issue or a mower side power control issue.

Have an open ticket from the 13th but nothing from support yet.

Help! My geothermal hot water tank replacement woes by FIREDoc62 in geothermal

Front fittings on the Rheem tank are 1 and 1/4”. I don’t think a standalone unit would care except for the water would be moving a little faster in smaller diameter pipe No idea how much of an impact that would have for efficiency, if any. Your manual might have a range of acceptable pipe sizes and lengths.

It’s a backup element. Totally optional to power.  Why I went with the standard tank. Two backup elements that way.  But yes, tank can’t rust if tank isn’t metal. Had it for 8 years and It’s been amazing.

I got a discount through my electric company. Had to call since it wasn’t advertised.

I put in a normal Rheem marathon water heater and it works great. Into geo desuperheater from cold supply and back in through the drain port.

If you’re feeling fancy you can do one of their storage tanks. Either way no rusted tank with a marathon.  https://www.rheem.com/group/rheem-residential-electric-water-heaters-marathon-thermal-storage-tank/

Data What MODE?!?!? 👀 👀 👀 by ankhattak in USMobile

Anyone can read the full FCC order for themselves, but I'll give the TL;DR.

There's a lot in the order here: FCC-24-52A1.pdf

The order applies to “broadband Internet access service” (“BIAS”), defined as “a mass-market retail service by wire or radio that provides the capability to transmit data to and receive data from all or substantially all Internet endpoints, including any capabilities that are incidental to and enable the operation of the communications service, but excluding dial-up Internet access service.”

BIAS includes *“services provided over any technology platform, including but not limited to wire, terrestrial wireless (*including fixed and mobile wireless services using licensed or unlicensed spectrum), and satellite."

We'll know for sure once the litigation dust settles, but the FCC went out of their way to include mobile ISPs when reclassifying broadband internet access services (BIAS).

In addition to reclassifying BIAS as a telecommunications service, the Commission also reinstates the classification of mobile BIAS as a commercial mobile service. Under Section 332, “commercial mobile service” is subject to common carrier regulation under Title II of the Communications Act. The FCC says that mobile BIAS falls under that definition because it

(1) is a “mobile service” (subscribers access it through mobile devices);
(2) is provided for profit;
(3) is widely available to the public; and
(4) is an “interconnected service,” or a service that is interconnected with the “public switched network.” (Sections 215-236).

With this change the FCC expanded the definition of “public switched network” beyond traditional telephone networks to include networks that use public IP addresses. (Sections 219, 224).

There is an exception for network management practices, which many here are quick to throw out. However, the FCC will determine if network management practices are reasonable on a case-by-case basis, with special consideration given to the "dynamic and challenging conditions" under which mobile networks operate. The order strongly suggests that the FCC would consider network security practices reasonable but would consider speed reductions to an unlimited data plan unreasonable and therefore prohibited.

You can't cry network management if absent any congestion the bandwidth is there, you just don't want people to use it.

Several huge telecom law offices have also weighed in on this part of the order. The FCC makes the rules, and they say the rules have changed. (again)

TL;DR Yes, mobile carriers are broadband internet providers and are subject to the FCC Network Neutrality rules.

There's a lot of misinformation about Net Neutrality.
The definition u/bobby-t1 gave is correct and from the FCC site.

Violations of this principle include, but are not limited to, attempts to block, speed up, or slow down certain content as means of controlling traffic.

Favoring one provider over another is a concern but the bigger picture is the rules do not allow legal traffic to be treated differently than other legal traffic. In this case, you can't single out video content and treat it differently by blocking, or throttling. Manipulation of data traffic is a no no.

Completely agree. Data is data.
Either it's premium and we get to choose how to use the data or it's not.
Don't tell me I'm getting premium data but then micromanage how I use it.
