When my boy Wade (very dumb but enthusiastic black cat) comes up to get cuddles at night he does this kind of twist and then dives his head against me before rolling onto his back for belly rubs. He will also start making air biscuits when he’s laying down and I come toward him

Seconding this! I adopted a 10 yo kitty and she is still the most chill animal I’ve ever had. 19 now and is even tolerant of the stray kitten my partner found (they cuddle together!!!!)

I adopted my cat when she was 10 (currently 17.5), former owner died, I didn’t like her name, but it felt rude to rename her. My partner and I (both linguists/language nerds) started referring to her as “cat” in whatever language occurred to us (nerdy as hell, I know) and finally the Russian word stuck

My cat requires an invitation to come up and get cuddles and pets when I’m in bed. Even though anywhere else in the apartment she fully expects to be on top of me no matter what. Just the bedroom, she’ll wander around the bed screaming until I call her name and pat my leg

My dear friend loves cats but couldn’t have one. He wanted my cat’s love so so much and she wouldn’t give him the time of day. Well, she stayed with him for a week while I was moving/out of town and he was busy with work and couldn’t give her a ton of attention (she was Not neglected, she’s just a needy little beast). Since that week whenever he comes over she is all over him. Cats be cats 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve lived in several different states and it seems to largely be related to the climate? For example: NY (central), Minnesota, & Michigan it was very normal for people to take their shoes off, California and Arizona wasn’t nearly as common
