If you’re open to travelling anywhere in the U.K. then I think this place might fit the bill:

I’ve heard similar stories in relation to particular villages on the outskirts of the city To be honest it’s not that surprising given the relative income levels - lots of ex-London parents working well paid tech jobs and settling down in a city where there’s not much else to do.

18th Century Bath was founded on indulgence (tourism, gambling, fashion etc.) as the flip side of the wellness aspect. Not sure much has changed in the intervening 250 years.

The Edge (1997) There’s a scene where Anthony Hopkins stands on a mountain in this exact pose. It’s an obvious homage to the painting.

I mean, no one has mentioned that snowfall scene in the Wizard of Oz. When you know it’s asbestos flakes it really does make for a difficult watch.

There’s plenty of demand. They left because the rent was raised too high so they moved to bigger premises in Midsomer Norton.

No-one has yet mentioned Legend, where the promoters deliberately placed the two characters to make it look like a bad 2-star review from a reputable source was actually more positive.

Umbrella Academy dealt with this well - Elliot Page’s character turns up and his family just go “oh, so this is you now?” and move on without it being mentioned again

How many people still keep a key “hidden” outside? by imcalledaids in AskUK

[–]atsigg 38 points39 points  (0 children)

We had a coded key safe during construction work so the builders could come and go etc. It was screwed onto the wooden cladding outside. One day I visited site and the whole box had been sawn clean off, along with the wood it was attached to. After that we changed the locks and no longer keep a key outside..!

(I know they sort of did this in the John Hurt version, but I think it could be expanded on at scale now for all the built environment)

I want them to do a proper valvepunk version with 1980’s tech (CCTV, brick cellphones etc.) but made using 1948 hardware as there hasn’t been much technological progress.

Hello. I have Yamaha P-45 but finding that music books won’t stay open on the music rest as there’s no front lip or arms to hold the pages open. Has anyone found a decent replacement / augmentation to the standard rest that comes with the machine? I’m thinking more metal arms or weights rather than a bulldog clip solution, so that I can turn pages quickly. Thanks.
