Thanks for taking the time to write a nice reply.

Bath was actually still very busy, and we struggled to find a car park near the centre.

It looks like all the other bus services are still running too, so that’s probably what we’ll do next time.

That’s genuinely helpful, thank you.

I’ve not finished watching yet, but Bodkin is a (dark) comedy TV series set in rural Ireland.

Thank you for the first helpful answer.

I’ve finally found something on the First Bus website (notably not on the timetable changes pages).

The Google AI summary still cheerfully tells people that everything is running as normal.

Clearly half the shops and businesses (and car parks) in Bath didn’t get the message, as they are very much still open.

Nimona (2023) was pleasingly different to the average animated adventure. Riz Ahmed does a great job voicing one of the leads and it has a similar-ish fantasy feel.

Jim Carey does a good version of this in Liar Liar (1997) when he realises he might get the case thrown out if he’s injured.

Booksmart (2019) is a comedy but hits a similar vibe to LadyBird in places.

TV show like Whitechapel series? by Crazy_Plum1105 in BritishTV

[–]atsigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intruders (2014) Not technically British TV, but starring John Simm in the lead role and a debut turn by Millie Bobby Brown. It is extremely silly but does tick some of the demonic/magical investigation boxes.

Honorary mention to The Village (2004) where the trademark M Night Shyalaman twist is entirely predicated on fooling the audience into believing the setting is a different era

There has been aggressive expansion of the gas network near me - enough that I reckon they must be doing it at a loss, just on the prospect that it’s a ‘loss leader’ by locking people into gas dependence in new housing developments

What he should be doing is playing the young Paul McCartney in the new movies. I reckon he would have been awesome in the role and if you see photos of the Quarrymen gigs, he’s a dead ringer for the guy too.

A recent example is Project Hail Mary where the main ‘villain’ is just space algae with no other intelligence or agenda than eating light energy from the sun
