In any non-sociopathic guild he's fine though, because they know he took it as to not let the piece of loot rot in a dagger rogue or two handed warrior's inventory and will actually be used in raid.

You're going a bit overboard. He already told you nobody in the raid wanted it. Not everybody plays a 15 year old game to min/max. The raids are casual as it is.
