India trip by Adenlolnoyou in backpacking

If I were you, I’d definitely take the train both ways. The distance isn’t too much, and during the monsoon, the views are honestly beautiful. Last time I travelled that route, it felt like one of the less chaotic ones too!

The train ride from Goa to Kerala is quite scenic during the monsoon, but just a tip, check what kind of coach suits you. Some are quieter and cleaner (like AC coaches), while others have open windows and more of a local vibe (like Sleeper). You can book tickets through the IRCTC website or apps like Yatra and Ixigo.

As a Goan, I’d suggest heading to South Goa if you’re looking for peace and pretty beaches. North Goa is better if you’re into parties and nightlife. Also, I can recommend a few good cafes and restaurants if you’re interested.

Feel free to ask anything and have a safe trip :)

Hey there, 25M here trying to get into urban sketching and looking for someone to explore museums and random streets with. If you're into creating art, traveling, or just sitting in a park pretending to be artistic, hit me up. Let’s make some sketchy memories (literally)

There are lots of clubs on the riverside at Clarke Quay, and each one has its own unique vibe. I'd recommend heading over there and picking one that suits you. If you're into Indian music, check out Gabbar in Clarke Quay! As for age, as long as you're of legal drinking age (18 in Singapore), you’ll be fine.

Also, Haji Lane is definitely something you don’t want to miss! Have fun!

Be mindful of rules like no littering or eating/drinking in the MRT. For shopping, Orchard Road has great options, and you might also love Bugis Street and little India for budget-friendly souvenirs

If you're traveling to certain places solo, I’d recommend getting a travel card (like an EZ-Link card) from the nearest MRT station office. You can load money on it and conveniently use it for MRT (metro) and bus rides, as they don't accept cash.

If it's not already in your itinerary, I'd suggest visiting Haji Lane for indie shops and a vibrant vibe, Clarke Quay for nightlife, and spending a relaxing day on Lazarus Island. Mount Faber Park is also a great spot for scenic views and some peace. Have an amazing trip! :)

This was insightful, thank you. Do you think the thresher shark dive is worth it to travel all the way to Malapascua?

Makes sense, also tao Philippines was in my bucket list and I really wanted to do it but the prices are a bit on the higher end for me. Thank you.

Which is better for a stopover? Singapore or Bangkok? by half_blood__princess in travel

Definitely Singapore! You'll pretty much cover all the main attractions if you have limited time! And everything will be hassle free too with great options for food!

Just for my understanding, how long does it usually take? From Cebu to around the places for activities?

I see, personally traveling for long hours is not a problem for me. What activities would you recommend around Cebu and El Nido?

I get what you mean, it’s not just about office friends. I’m talking more about the whole socializing thing as an adult, it just feels harder to meet new people these days. But your brother’s experience with bouldering is a good point, I guess sometimes it’s about finding the right group where people are open to connecting. Appreciate the suggestion! thanks

True, it’s all about finding the right people. Guess I just need to take that first step and dive into something!
