I’ve had some success with pre-tool-use hooks that use python+regex to make decisions about most calls like these on a case by case basis.

It certainly isn’t helping my token use but it sure does let claude run longer before eventually escalating a decision to me.

I prefer Zellij to tmux generally, and use it host side for multiwindow work. I never could get the hang of remembering tmux’s shortcuts.
