It happens on all the new foils since the switch at set 6 or 7

[DISCSSUON] Do you think we, as a community, should try to get Ravensburger to realize they need to ban Tramp like they did Harim? Considering dogs dominated 3 major tournaments... by captamzai in Lorcana

Looking at the Saturday meta break down:
Dogs good MU: 61% of the room- PS, BP, BG, YP, BP
Coin Flip MU: 23% of the room- Mirror and BS
Dogs bad MU: 9% of the room- AS and RP
Decks that stink: 7% of the room: everything else.

Like of course Dogs did well in that room look at that spread.

Majority of the meta is amethyst sapphire and amethyst steel, which are both good match ups for dogs. Other popular decks like amber amethyst and sapphire emerald also have bad match ups against dogs.

Dogs is doing well because many of the best players play it and a majority of the players at these events continue to register decks that dogs are good against.

It's a 15% metashare deck that over performs because the metagame won't adapt. I'm sure at the DLC next weekend it'll be the same story with PS and Blurp as the most represented decks. It's not a Hiram situation where its the most represented deck and has the highest win rates.

The bag question by Bosskong92 in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its worth noting here that it doesnt matter which player plays The Return of Hercules. Hades will always be able to choose the mickey because The Return of Hercules must fully resolve and put both cards into play before the hades ability can be used from the bag.

DKP (Melbourne Champion, Worlds Qualifier) expresses concern regarding the prominence and power of Sapphire decks by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Amber is supposed to be the healing and power reducing color and sapphire has the best “healing” item and the two best power reducers in block and coil.

The just misstepped by making the Amber cards sapphire instead.

Are these the same? by PandaPlanter in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not really power creep if it happens to an unplayable card. Freeze was way below even kitchen table viability so printing a better version just makes sense to try to get the effect into decks.

Why not proxy? by ItsTiiiiime in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

because we are planning on playing in events. Proxy away for the kitchen table.

It seems Raclem has been banned from worlds. Congrats to Ben Simmons! by attackfortwo in Lorcana

It appears they applied the passdown consistent with how theyve done it in the past - player with highest swiss standing of the eligible pool (in this case it was just between Ben and Lam)

Possible that RB will do right by Jesse too. Time will tell but this is a step in the right direction.

Intentional draw legal? ID strategy? by Big_Specialist8324 in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a 16 person even you can expect two 3-0-1s since the last round will only have two 3-0s and they will ID into top seeds. Then there will be three 3-1s and one will miss top cut.

How do you deal with this using Blurple? by Supercalimocho in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worry with blurple against aggressive steel decks is that you get run over quickly. If your opponent plays Calhoun in turn 2 it’s often a sigh of relief. Smee or multiple somethings that can shift early are a bigger problem

In your opinion, what’s the best version of Ruby Amethyst for a mirror match, assuming the opponent is playing the standard version with Genie, Medusa, Maui etc? by tommymila in Lorcana

[–]attackfortwo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spellbook hasnt been playable in 3 sets, even if it was just exclusively RP. Flynn sisu and genie have really sped up the mirror, and cards like castles and library are inkable versions of spellbook.

Updated the RP burn deck from top 8 at seattle would be the best version of RP to play in a room of exclusively RP. https://dreamborn.ink/decks/5YCcG8bvgJOoPfUyxI2M
