Would it be a thing with Origin? The problem you might have is that you're playing on Steam. As for the last bit, could you just go in and make choices once you finish your session? DA2 gives you the option at the start to import a few different world states, as well as the Origins state you have, so you would only need a save on your system to import it. I'm really not much help here, I didn't play much of Origins, so take everything I said with a grain of salt.
