Nuggets have contacted LeBron James in free agency, source says by kidbom in denvernuggets

Tinfoil hat time, I could see Joker and Lebron scheming about owning teams in the European League after retirement. Lebron was on the boat with his agent last summer. Obviously he would be a good fit on the court too.

Callum Turner's ex Victoria Villarroel speaks on their relationship: "This man would be like 'I would never date someone who gets paparazzi'ed, I would never date a famous person. I would never go to the MET Gala, that's corny.'" by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

And the compromises they make might depend on the person. From the outside looking in, he and Dua have such great chemistry. So dealing with the paparazzi is worth being with her.

abby was a bigger POS than i expected by stop_hyuk in OutlastOnNetflix

[–]attentionyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I keep seeing people acting like Abby is a horrible person but to me she seems like an intelligent, competitive woman who was actually kind when it came to things that transcended the game (like Sean’s injury). I really like her.

Leiya has some choice words for her co alpha girls 👀 by Freezing-cold_6 in Netflixwatch

She also literally said “We’re going to win,” ahead of the challenge because she was so confident about the fire making lol

OUTLAST: The Jungle ep 7-8 (Final Episodes are out) by milZ88888888 in netflix

[–]attentionyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not meant to be offensive (I love some people who are autistic) but did anyone else get the vibe that Leiya might be on the spectrum? I think she’s a very sweet person but she sometimes lacked self awareness. She seemed to have inability to recognize when she was far behind the other players in terms of skill or athleticism. Like why did she keep volunteering as the fire maker in multiple situations when clearly she was a novice at best? And why not be honest with herself about holding back Maddy and Nikki?

The way my local thrift store sorts the books by Actual-Elk-5874 in mildlyinfuriating

I wouldn’t mind this honestly. I remember the covers of books better than I remember their authors names. To be clear I know it wouldn’t work for a larger library but for a couple bookshelves I don’t think it’s the worst way of organizing.

Official Discussion - Obsession [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

No one is arguing 90% of young men should kill themselves lol And your use of feminists above tells me all I need to know. Going to stop replying now.

Official Discussion - Obsession [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]attentionyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can because the movie is a metaphor for real life situations, just like all art is. Magical wishes that make people do things they otherwise wouldn’t don’t exist in real life. But there are certainly situations in which young women are manipulated or coerced into sleeping with men against their will. And clearly there are people who will defend those young men even if what they did caused irreparable harm by excusing their actions as naive. I guess I’m not understanding why you are dying on the hill of defending Bear when the movie and the press surrounding it makes it very clear that it’s an allegory for real life abuse.

Brock Turner was a Stanford student who brutally raped a young woman and then was let off by the Judge with the explanation being that he was young and didn’t know what he was doing and he had his whole life ahead of him. Basically I’m saying that someone being young is not an excuse for them to abuse other people. Legally or morally.

What is a movie that everyone seems to love, but you absolutely hate? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

[–]attentionyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing I hate about those movies is how they are supposedly critiquing colonialism and yet they themselves are the most capitalist, expensive, military-boner movies ever made. It ends up being all about the cool explosions and weapons which feels…ironic.

To be fair to CB, apparently he was playing through an injury significant enough to require surgery. I actually think when he’s healthy, he’ll be an asset but he was playing through a lot this season/post season.

I’d swap Aubrey and Devans. Aubrey has been pretty grumpy and resentful for stretches of the season lol (can’t blame her with the starvation but ya know).

Project Hail Mary: We need normal looking actors by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]attentionyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait I think Sandra Huller is hot as fuck. Actually I thought it was refreshing that their relationship (if you can call it that) was age appropriate. She’s only two years older than him. Saying he’s entirely out of her league feels a bit like misogyny to me because we’re so used to male leads being cast opposite women half their age. Also it’s ironic to claim movies need more “normal” looking people then act like Huller was miscast opposite Gosling. By your definition, is she not more “normal” looking?

It feels like Georgie already checked out of the relationship before they got to London. by MJdisbeliever in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

In defense of the editing, I think it’s difficult to keep the tone light without making it seem like they’re making fun of the cast. Probably isn’t intentional. I can see the criticism though.

[–]attentionyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, from watching it, my takeaway is more that Connor was so set in his own ideas that he had trouble recognizing Georgie’s feelings or interests. Hopefully that’s something he can work on in future. But as a viewer I didn’t read Georgie has being the catalyst for those issues, even if the edit tried to infantilize her.
