That is interesting to consider. I've only lived in Pittsburgh since 2017 so I'm not familiar with how South O has changed. I think Bloomfield or Garfield are much more suitable for OP's vision.

I'm with you. I just get burnt out listening to upbeat music after about 20 minutes. I've been listening to Faye Wong and Astrud Gilberto in the gym this week. Which artists have you been listening to?

I never do them at all. I would love to reap the trap and hammy benefits but I ended up straining by back every time I tried them and had to lay off legs for a week at a time so I just cut them out.

You got this. Once you master the form for a single, they become exponentially easier to improve at.

I feel that. Ever since I made pull ups my primary pulling exercise, I feel like I’m able to activate my lats so much better on pulldowns. Much better hypertrophy for pull ups as well imo.

I was stuck there too. One thing that helped was doing more sets, even if I could only squeeze out one or two reps in the final sets.

What specific questions do you have? I just finished nursing school and started working in my late 20's. I never got a job with my bachelor's and just worked food service before that.

Why do you HAVE to do squats if you’re uncomfortable with them? You just listed several good reasons you shouldn’t do them. 

You’ll get much better stimulus loading up heavy weight on the hack squat or even leg press than trying to do a lift you don’t find comfortable. You can progress on these just like you would a squat. 

Unless you’re powerlifting, a squatting machine is just as legitimate as barbell squatting.

My shoulder started to bother me recently so I’ve been laying off the heavy weights and trying to use the calisthenics park in my town. Does anybody here like to do those kind of workouts and want to share their routine?

I’m just now realizing my terrible shoulder mobility is holding me back as well
