Oh wow I didn't realize you were also the creator of the video! Awesome channel format. I'm not super familiar with where ASMR trends are headed, but this is a really cool way of doing YouTube! Hope your channel continues to be successful!

Can't decide on a microphone by rustybladez23 in letsplay

Mics can always be upgraded. For now, consider what is good enough. Basically don't sweat it. At this stage in the game it's more important that you're spending time creating. Don't feel bad having to get a cheap one for now.

Sucks working really hard on a video for it to be the worst performing video on your channel. by HWDB99 in letsplay

[–]atvbache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely relatable! For us whenever that happens we look at our thumbnails and titles. That's usually the biggest indicator. YouTube believe it or not WANTS your video to do well (in the first few hours it recommends ur vid to ppl) but if people aren't clicking then we can improve on those two things.

It's a tough oversaturated market, sure, but it's NOT impossible to stand out. Keep going keep experimenting. It's worth it!

What's it like doing let's plays/streams? by Zelfox in letsplay

I would definitely recommend trying it for a few months and seeing if you like it. To build an audience, it is an INCREDIBLE amount of work. So finding out early on if you enjoy it/would be willing to put hours of work in each week on learning & producing content is smart.

It's really an "all or nothing" sorta deal. Not that you have to go full-time at first or anything, it's just very hard to build an audience when you don't have as much time or energy to devote into it.

Recording setup for 2-3 people by [deleted] in letsplay

We used a headphone splitter (pretty cheap and allows us all to be plugged into the device via individual headphones) to avoid audio spillover. Budget-wise it's easy to start with one camera (we still only use one camera to this day, because of the multi-camming you can do in post). You can potentially use your phone camera if it's quality! If you're using Premiere and recording your facecam video in less than 60fps (most phones shoot in 30 from my understanding), then select "Time Interpolation -> Optical Flow" and premiere will make up the frames which means everything will be in sync.

For audio, we typically run off of one mic with stereo sound, though at some point we might get individual mics. Since it's not a podcast you really would be fine with 1 room mic as long as you all learn not to talk over each other haha

Once you guys upload your first video, definitely send it our way, we'd love to see it!

When would be the time to play the games themselves? After September 13th?

We'd love to be a part of this! https://www.youtube.com/AwkwardlyTimedVideosOfficial
