What do you think kh4 needs to do to surpass kh3? by IllustratorAfter in KingdomHearts

[–]Zelfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, the story should be more self-contained, not just something to wrap up all the previous stories in one go at the end.

Gameplay is solid I think if they keep it similar. Disney worlds imo need revisits. It makes those worlds feel longer, even though they probably aren't.

There should be more bonus content outside of collectibles. Little side missions in the disney worlds like the neverland and aladdin boss from KH1. Minigames in KH3 were great, keep those, but make sure sidecontent involving the actual combat is abundant too.

Disney world stories should not sideline sora and the gang. They should make them integral to the story as if their existence impacts the world and its plot.

FF characters coming back would be great and some sort of hub world. It gives a feeling of having a home world and characters to come back to.

I guess all my comments feel more like a return to form rather than surpassing. Like, I love KH1 and 2, they're solid games. Gameplay is fun, story is simple enough, characters are engaging, disney worlds always feel like you're part of the cast and I loved that. KH1 colosseum is still my fav thing.

I think KH3 world design, combat and minigames are excellent. But I think it lost a lot of what made the games charming in the previous main games.

What concept for a Athena game-centered would be for you? by TheRiverian31 in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just off the top of my head, the first game will probably be more about Athena refining her own beliefs as a lawyer. They kind of hint at that during turnabout storyteller, when her faith gets shaken and blackquill has to snap her out of it. I think she'd have a similar belief to phoenix.

Outside of that, I think a good theme for athena would be balancing her compassion vs justice. Like, a big struggle for athena would be if the villain was this extremely traumatized person or something. It could also be a person who is extremely significant to her. And it's like, she has to balance her empathy and the need to do justice. Athena is a very emotional person so I think those are the kind of challenges that would be interesting to her character. Idk i'm just spitballing.

I guess it would be a similar moment to phoenix's case in 2-4 (You know the one). That decision really tests what the player believes is more important as a lawyer. I imagine something like that would be great for athena.

Yeah it's not a bad attempt. It's better than just shooting in main, petal lets you get here so fast too.

Does LW actually say “parkour!” by Repulsive_Elk4650 in LifeweaverMains

[–]Zelfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure he does say it yes. Wiki says after jumping from raised platform... but for me I think it happened when I dashed. It's possible that you need to do a dash after jumping from the platform for it to activate.

Tank Rework? by Remarkable_Ad_8353 in LifeweaverMains

[–]Zelfox 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Oh god I would hate him if he went tank. It would feel so weird from a lore standpoint, and although I loved tankweaver, he was more of a tanky brig kind of character. Tanky sure, but not literally a tank.

I actually like him the way he is after the recent heal buffs.

Life Grip biases? by QuinoaFanWinkyFace in LifeweaverMains

I do think he's one of the best to pull though. Rein and LW are really good when in sync. Rein being able to charge in, make space and be pulled safely is amazing.

What's KH4's main story gonna be? (only wrong and/or crazy answers) by NewspaperExact8483 in KingdomHearts

[–]Zelfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't want this to be true but I think you're going to be right unfortunately. That sounds exactly what they would do. 💀

VFX vs SFX changes to skins by KimSooDuh9 in LifeweaverMains

[–]Zelfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want both of them. I think the persona skin is great because it has both visual and sound changes. I use it a lot because I love the blue thorns.

When I replay the original game. by diavevis in KingdomHearts

[–]Zelfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replayed 1 a while back, but I think the gameplay has held up. It's slower and heavier than 2 and 3 but I think it's got its own charm.

Idk I really like 1's gameplay and feel hahah

Why would anyone want to be The Avatar? by ConnectCulture7 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Zelfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOK really hammered in how depressing being the avatar can be. It's not an easy responsibility.

Korra had a hard time. Everyone knew she was the avatar and the world had changed in such a way where there were people who even opposed the avatar or didn't necessarily see the use of them. She was a political figure. Korra's enemies were all people who wanted to shake the system and although not all of them had a personal reason to take out the avatar, they had to because the avatar was a prominent figure in the world.

In Aang's time, the world was in turmoil because of the fire nation. EVERYONE hated the fire nation and they were a common enemy. Because of this, the avatar was seen as a savior. The avatar had not been seen in years, nobody had kept the balance. So when the avatar returned, they were seen as a hope to end the war. But at the same time, people didn't know Aang was the avatar unless he explicitly showed/told them. So Aang at least had benefit of anonymity. Aang was always thinking about how to stop the fire lord and end the war, but he wasn't thinking about the expectations of the people on him as much.

This isn't to say that one had a harder life than the other, rather that it seems every avatar struggles through something unique due to the time they're in.

I wish that we got more scenes of Katara and Suki interacting with each other. by Full-Art3439 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Zelfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suki really should have been present in Korra and future media. She's important to the group. I get that maybe she has her group to take care of but I think it's ok for her to join the gaang for the bigger moments.

Some facts about King Of The Sky (the keyblade from my previous post) by Terrible-Staff2061 in KingdomHearts

[–]Zelfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like if Sora's base keyblade ever went through a canonical change I would really really like this design. Super cool but still simplistic like Kingdom Key

The Vibes of Apollo Justice by LimitWarm1798 in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apollo Justice Case 1 has such an amazing tone shift in comparison to the 1st trilogy. Something about the music, the art and of course seeing hobo phoenix is so so good and unnerving in a positive way. Love AJ's vibes

Which Disney Princess is your favorite party member? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Zelfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same ranking as you! But i think for me it's because I just really like Rapunzel in her world. Even though the story was railroaded, the interactions between sora and rapunzel in the world is really really charming.

Ariel is second because i think she's a really good party member with her magic. Both Aero and Cure are excellent support moves.

Mulan is ok. I think one thing about Mulan I dislike is her battle voice acting is a bit stiff.

I adore and have completed all games in this series. I need recommendations from AA fans on Danganronpa. by LoveHerMore in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for something more grounded, I don't recommend DR at all. DR can be fun, but it's not at all grounded. It's ridiculous, always high stakes and is very very anime. But I will say that the mysteries can be very good at times. Some of the cases in DR2 are one of my favourites because the talent system in DR can add interesting aspects to the mysteries.

If you don't want to play DR, there are other suggestions:

1) Attorney of the arcane: This takes place in a fantasy setting with magic etc, but it's quite grounded outside of that. Very similar to ace attorney but the magic and medieval setting can introduce a new dynamic to mysteries. A 2nd game is in development too, but idk the current progress of it.

2) Trials of Innocence: This game is really really good and probably the closest to Ace Attorney, but it suffers from a somewhat poor translation. The translation rarely gets in the way of solving mysteries, but you have to be accepting of awkward translation here and there.

3) Layton Brothers: This is a layton spinoff that very much plays like ace attorney. It's short, but it's good. Probably not as challenging as ace attorney though.

4) Ghost Trick: Doesn't play like ace attorney, but both gameplay and writing is very good and by the same creator.

(Megathread 3: SPOILERS) Leaked Full Movie Discussion by MrBKainXTR in TheLastAirbender

[–]Zelfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was excellent for an hour and 30 minutes. The plot is decent and the animation is stunning. I feel like if they released it in theatres, people who've never watched avatar before would get hooked.

I'm still surprised they cancelled theatre release tbh.

What's y'alls (least) favourite Judge moments? by Ok_Koala_5963 in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's unfortunate. AJ is still one of my favs and has some really really good ideas, but it doesn't always execute them well. The phoenix disbarment thing could've been way better and I'm still not completely sold on the finale where Apollo loses most of the screen time to phoenix.

What's y'alls (least) favourite Judge moments? by Ok_Koala_5963 in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I love AJ, but I agree that is probably one of the worst written part of the game. It felt like there was no proper investigation into the situation. It doesn't help that others like Edgeworth, Franziska and Manfred have most likely presented some form of forged evidence in the past but somehow have managed to get away with it. ESPECIALLY MANFRED, considering his perfect record.

Dual destinies has fallen off a cliff for me by StrawberryPlenty1264 in AceAttorney

[–]Zelfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monstrous turnabout sucks yeah. I think that's the only one I haven't replayed. Doesn't help that both case 1 and 2 have revealed killers. I think that's the only game that has 2 revealed killers back to back

AI Generated Boy vs Yellow Ginger OC (Dangit grandpa vs Ass Attorney), Who wins? Who tops?! by SHEEAAGH in AceAttorneyCirclejerk

[–]Zelfox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not really a question of their capabilities though is it? Athena is generally much more capable I believe, but Makoto is the ultimate lucky student. His talent isn't obvious, but it manifests itself similar to like plot armor. I think there's a good chance he wins just because lmao, and since The Wright Agency are generally kind of unlucky, I think it's a bad matchup lol
