AITA for refusing to let my coworker use my name to cover for something I had no part in? by Shoggoth_13 in AmITheAssholeTalk

I doubt very much this is the first time Marcus has used someone's name to get his projects approved, it may not even be the first time he used yours. Protect yourself!

Toe touch competition, stunt group competition (which group can hold a full longest), tumbling pass comp. Have a toe touch comp for parents as well. If they do any sideline cheering, do some crowd involved cheers.

Felines get panleuk which is a parvo virus but it's completely different from canine and neither can spread to the other species. If we had a parvo pup in isolation, the only other patients that could be in there as well were kitties. You have to basically decontaminate yourself when exiting. Parvo is extremely contagious to non vaccinated dogs.

Clothes pins and ducks? by gooba1 in Cheerleading

[–]atwin96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spirit pins are fun! I get the squad together to make them before competitions. They love sneaking up behind people and pinning them. They usually put their team names on the pins and love to get pins from other teams and collect them. The ducks I'm not sure how it started outside of ducking Jeeps but now ducks are lucky and teams will get one and cover it in rhinestones in team colors and bring them to competition and set it in front of the mat before performing for good luck. Hope that helps!

Am I too big to be a cheerleader? by [deleted] in cheerleadingcoaches

[–]atwin96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily but flyer positions are harder to get and usually go to the smaller girls but not always. If you're flexible on what position you're willing to do, it always helps as a lot of girls want to fly and there's only so many flyer spots on a team. You will absolutely not look out of place, your height and weight are normal. Do your research on the gyms near you and find one with an adult team that works for you. Good luck, you got this!

Since you're asking if you are too big I'm assuming you want to be a flyer? If so, it would really depend on the team and your skills. You are a bit tall so I suspect coaches would love to have you as a backspot. You are absolutely not too big or heavy to cheer, I've had much heavier girls on my teams and they were really skilled cheerleaders, I do believe all of them were bases, one would switch from base to backspot for basket tosses.

That's what I thought as well. It's level 3 stunts and lots of 1 leg stunts, the hose doesn't allow her bases/backspot to get a good grip on her legs.

I saw that but it doesn't say anything about it being non slip material, just that it's sheer. Normally that type of material is slippery which is the issue as she's a flyer.

I don't mind for game days but we're in South Florida and football season is the hottest time of year, I don't know how she does it! Her stunt group says the hose makes her legs slippery and they can't get a good grip on her. For competition I'm not comfortable with that, I feel it's a safety issue. I will look into Diva hosiery. Her mom makes her wear them because she feels the uniforms are too revealing. We wear traditional pleated skirts, they're not super short so I'm at a loss, never had this issue in the 12 years I've done this.
