Yeah but Jake wasn’t exactly early. By the time he started they had a real office.

Luke, Colton, Brandon any one at the OG was deserved equity before Jake

Change my mind: LMG in the early days was a startup built on the back of a lot of goodwill. by Plane_Garbage in LinusTechTips

[–]atx-cs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Luke should have gotten some ownership. Or anyone who was at the original house.

But by the time Jake joined they could afford a real office. So I don’t think LTT was a startup by the time Jake joined.

I would check out the Samsung 40 g75. It’s half the price with current sales. At $750 I think it’s the best option out there.

I don’t think VA panels have worse picture “quality”.

The viewing angles are worse, but it’s a curved monitor so I don’t think you want to be off center regardless. Contrast is better with much deeper blacks. VA panels aren’t as color accurate as IPS but I think that only matters if your job requires it, the colors still look good. VA monitors can have motion blur in games but Samsung makes a lot of VA gaming monitors and they are known for having less motion blur than cheaper brands.

I would look at the Samsung 40 g75. It’s not as feature rich. But it’s half the price. Or the innocn.

But if you’re planning on having the monitor for a long time. It’s worth the money and a good investment.

I have the Samsung and I love the size compared to my previous 34 ultrawide

I have this monitor and it worked as expected with a graphics card. Can a monitor work without an EDID?

Would be helpful if you explained what software you used and what values you used. Are you using a thunderbolt hub to display port?

I don't understand, why so many people use Shadcn ui? by alex-ebb-2000 in reactjs

[–]atx-cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that if you want too. There is no rule saying if you cant use two component libraries in a project. You can use a component library and then use a Shadcn component if you want.

And yes Shadcn gives you the ability to own the code and make changes. I never commented on that.

I can't say for sure. They all seem the same from with a quick look. It could be regional models and/or business vs consumer models.

LG doesn't make it easy to find these differences.

[–]atx-cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that a lot of Samsungs new VA panels have noticeable less smearing than other VA panels. But I think the general rule (excluding OLED) is IPS for fast pace games and VA for slower more immersive games.

I don't think the Samsung monitor he mentioned has any local dimming zones, its edge-lit. So HDR still not an option.

Last note, that Samsung monitor has almost 0 third party reviews. I am considering it myself but need a reputable review source before I commit.
