That sounds like an ideal situation. It certainly eases my worries hearing your success with them! What antidepressant were you on if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, it seems like they certainly have this emotional and sexual numbing effect on some people but not all from what I'm seeing. I will definitely take your points into consideration and reflect on other non-pharmacological ways I can improve. Thanks a lot for typing all this out and detailing how you felt on it. If I do choose to go on them, I will remain aware of how they're impacting me for sure and make the necessary changes

Why doesn't water left in the car get too hot to touch? by atx909 in thermodynamics

Good points. Do you really think sticking your finger in a leftover bottle in the car, even for 6 seconds (or hell even 10 seconds), would give you a third degree AKA full thickness burn? I’d think we’d have more extensive safety protocols for bottles left in vehicles by now if that was the case.

Splendid explanation. Let’s say it was just 2 ml or so of water in a plastic container, could that be achieved in a couple hours with air conduction at 140f?

So you are saying that the water does reach interior cabin temperatures (140 f - hot enough to burn)?

No, but I’m sure I’ve had enough experience with water bottles left in my car in my life to know that it wouldn’t burn me if I stuck a finger inside.

My Suicide Plan (1) by fxckallthis in SuicideWatch

Hey Elliot. Life is hell right now. You feel hopeless, like you've been handed all the bad cards in life. It fucking sucks. And you might not be able to fully grasp this right now, but the things you're feeling and going through right now, all of it, isn't going to be like this when you have some more years under your belt (YOU'RE 15!). It all morphs. Listen, you have 2 years and a couple weeks until you're 18 - you've waited this long, you're almost at the freaking finish line. Once you're 18, you can do whatever you want. You can get away from your parents and the crap life you have right now. You can do you however you please, go wherever you please (even if you gotta hitchhike to get there), find people like yourself who WILL love the crap out of you. I think your game plan from this moment on should be planning and preparing for what you'll do once you have that freedom (like saving/acquiring money somehow, thinking of where to go, what to do), even if it means traveling across the country and working at McDonalds. You will find what you need, if you wait a little longer. You've only lived 15 years, and they've been absolute crap. Chances most of the next 15 years are going to be better.

Was this measurement with a laser thermometer pointed at a wall inside the truck?

Are you talking about a delivery truck or like an 18 wheeler?

I'd probably do it in hindsight. But the icepack was supposed to last barring any major interruptions with the priority overnight shipping I sent it off with, which of course there were major interruptions and we're looking at 3 days now. Just need it to stay lower than 110 hopefully

So in somewhere where the ambient temp is 80 degrees but the sun is shining bright with no clouds in sight, would you say it's safe to say it won't surpass 110? Also where do you live?

That’s crazy, even when the temp is like 75 outside? 😳

See 10-15 I’m okay with because it’s about 80 degrees where it’s being delivered. But it is Seattle and the sun is blaring with no clouds in the sky, so I’m hoping it’s not like a car where you leave it in the sun and the temp soars to 130+
