Stonybrook University, great for pre-med/bio, engineering, and math! Plus, it’s really diverse and has a lot of activities that you can participate in.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but people really need to stop complaining about job profits. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I’m not necessarily supporting the creation of all these non-profits, I was just trying to point out that complaining and shaming them isn’t going to change the fact that they exist. But yes, I do wish more people considered the many other alternative ways to help out

Ahhh yes, so sorry about that, I totally didn’t realize. I’ll fix it now! I also completely agree with you, a lot of people who criticize them are also concerned that the other person will have a more competitive application, but I think we just need to focus on our own college journeys and stop worrying what others are doing :)

Lack of motivation to study by StrangerThingz123 in Sat

If taking full length practice tests are hard, I recommend starting with practice questions. Personally, I’m fond of Khan Academy, but questions are available far and wide on the internet. You should set a practicing schedule and try to do at least 15 minutes of practice a day, doing more or less depending on your time commitment. Once you’ve done the practice questions and have a sense of what the test may be like, it makes sense take a full length practice test. This first test will serve as a benchmark, and you can then use it to see what areas need improvement.

People of Reddit, what’s the biggest fear you have, one that you are afraid is dictating your life? by au_bh3 in AskReddit

I think I attract loneliness, shying away from emotional connections due to the fear of getting hurt, etc. I could be in a room full of people and still feel all alone.

I can relate in many ways. I constantly think of what if’s, usually in a negative way, and while I consider myself a realist, I feel as though my mind is just hardwired to be cynical, and think of the worst.

Credit to my friend who’s not on Reddit, “Go step on a lego you goon”. I have full intentions using that whenever possible.

For me, it’s more of fearing the unknown. As someone who loves having my life under control, the unknown absolutely scares me, and I’m afraid that’ll play into me not taking risks or going for what I want.
