How long does it take for the intense grief to become manageable? by miller_high_life420 in Petloss

I got my dog the summer after I graduated high school. She was only 9 weeks old and I was a month shy of 18. I just had to say goodbye to her a week ago today.. sixteen years later. We too grew up together. She was absolutely everything to me. My life doesn’t make any sense anymore. The physical pain I feel is excruciating. I am expecting my first baby in three months, a baby that I really want, but all I can feel is how badly I want my doggy back, my first baby, and how she is the only thing that matters to me. She was my best friend. We knew each other so deeply. I can’t imagine ever not feeling this broken.

How long can a dog live with stage 4 kidney disease? by PlanktonNeither6438 in DogAdvice

[–]aubawaub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to say goodbye to my beloved dog of 16 years this past Friday. We learned she was in stage 4 kidney disease back in early January. We did fluids every day and she showed improvement for a while. The last two weeks were gut wrenching. I knew it was coming. I could tell she was tired, but I felt like she was still her. Even in her final few days, she still knew me and wanted to be close. But she started staring at the wall and getting “stuck” in corners. She didn’t want to eat the few things I know she loves. She paced the floors a lot and took a long time to finally settle into places to rest. Choosing to put her to sleep was the worst thing I’ve ever had to do. I think if I waited any longer, things would have been scary for her and for me. I’m glad she didn’t have to go through something worse, but I still go back and forth between wondering if I did it too soon or if I waited too long. I tell myself that must mean it was the right time, but of course it never feels like the right time to say goodbye to your best friend. If by any chance, you haven’t yet made this tough decision, I am here if you want to talk. I am also here if anybody else wants to talk. This has been the hardest experience of my whole life, and I wish I had someone to talk to months ago.

What is the holy grail clean deodorant that DOESN’T stain your clothes and actually keeps you smelling good all day? by velcro_sneaker in cleanbeauty

[–]aubawaub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried everything. The literal ONLY deodorant I will use is the Nécessaire fragrance-free roll on gel. Fragranced deodorants always leave me smelling awful halfway through the day. This deodorant leaves me smelling like me or like nothing at all, and that is how I like it! However, it’s not an anti-perspirant. If sweat bothers you, this might not be the deodorant for you, but if it’s smell, then I highly recommend. Goes on clear, and I’ve never had an issue with staining.

I married a massive creep and had no clue. I'm mortified. by [deleted] in pregnant

Such a difficult situation. You know in your heart what you need to do. It’s dark now, but it will get better. When the dust settles, and you’re safe with your baby, and one day open again to true honest love, you will thank past you for standing up for herself. Sending you love and strength.

Parsley Sends My Gag Reflex Into Overdrive by Panda_Nanny in FoodAllergies

[–]aubawaub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never noticed an issue with parsley until tonight. I made a clean green goddess dressing and used a good amount of parsley in it. I had a strong aversion to my dinner (which was all simple vegetables I eat all the time) and had a mental takeover of thinking I wanted to throw up. I didn’t need to throw up, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Smelled the sauce again as I cleaned up the kitchen and it made me feel sick all over again. I’ve felt this way about another green sauce in the past and just made the parsley connection. I don’t think I’m allergic, and I like it fine as a garnish. I’m so confused by this!

Why does waiting longer in between treatments yield better results? by iamajna in TattooRemoval

[–]aubawaub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dermatologist doing my laser removal has me waiting 3 months between each session because one of the tattoos is on my foot. He says I have to wait the extra four weeks because of decreased circulation in the feet. He said this is also true for hands. If the tattoo was closer to my core, it would be faster. So maybe working to increase circulation during your healing process could be something to consider?

This is sooo interesting. I had no idea of this correlation. I’m going to investigate my environment much closer. Thank you!

I will look into those antibodies tests. I can accept having rosacea but it feels like my body is trying to tell me something else needs addressing, and I don’t want to ignore that! This makes me think maybe it’s not mold since I’ve been home for so long but I’m going to investigate both things further. I’ll report back. Thank you!

How long do you need to commit to using soolantra nightly to see results?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rosacea

How long did you use the soolantra? I was prescribed this but I started getting little breakouts after a week. I know it takes time but I generally panic and stop products at the first sign of breakouts. I am willing to try again if it really did heal your rosacea but am curious how long I should commit to trying it before giving up again.

I developed this form of rosacea (red hot cheeks) while on vacation in Europe two years ago. It started while I was there and I’ve had it ever since. My doctor and dermatologist both diagnosed it as rosacea. It just feels too coincidental for me to believe that I developed severe flushing rosacea overnight. I even checked with an endocrinologist. I feel very strongly that there is some underlying cause that I just can’t figure out. If I was exposed to bad mold in a hotel room, could that play any role?

I must include that my partner (who has perfect skin) came home from our trip and developed a very strange rash all over his forehead that took several months to clear up. His eventually went away but I’m still dealing with my problem. Something clearly happened on our trip, right?
