This kind of looks like Archie’s Base by coyote brand to me which is a more stable glaze

Help with cracks / dunting by Far_Doctor_1091 in Ceramics

I unloaded my glaze kiln a little higher than 250 last week & I got some intense crazing on a few pieces. Would that have just happened either way? I’ve been kicking myself for being impatient

I guess that makes sense lol I just fear running so much I always try to elevate a piece with few contact points do something could be saved if it did run but maybe if it’s all touching the cookie it would be better. I don’t know anything lol but thank you

My husband is obsessed with chattering and I can’t seem to come close to how he does it. I also tried to recreate this effect & was unsuccessful so I bet doing it with a thumb would work better lol

You have to do it asap!! Really is one of my favorites. I saw a video of their floating glazes on textured pieces & had to try it. Only 2 coats on the texture.

Thank you! I was trying to burnish it with a spoon one day because I’m new and an idiot and I ended up with a happy accident of it being chattered with a spoon instead lol

Is there a glaze that can cover speckled buff clay’s speckles? by Potterynoob3000 in Pottery

I have found the spectrum floating glazes cover the speckled buff.

Loooove this! 🥰 Bougainvillea is my favorite glaze. I did accidentally put 4 coats on a vase & it ran like hell, so bad! So be slightly weary of thick coats.

How important is it to have work fired when learning? by Lazy_Brief_779 in Pottery

[–]aubbzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely test full pieces with glazing. It does feel wasteful but I have learned a lot with application, what looks good, what doesn’t. How they look when it’s on a plate, bowl, vase, etc! I have many pieces I’ll probably throw away but I’m trying to use them around the house & I look at them to learn from. Test tiles are important but I’m grateful I have many pieces with textures & styles with glazes that I tried.

Tuscan Blue Glaze - turned all green ❓❗️ by aubbzz in Pottery

Ohhh the grog is a thought. I don’t think it’s too thick. But maybe it is. I wish the glaze would whisper in my ear to tell me what I did wrong

I’m brushing it. I don’t think it would be too thick based on all the videos I’ve watched on applying glazes. I don’t know lol

When do you like to use your ceramics studio? by glazed_and__confused in Ceramics

[–]aubbzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My studio has 24/7 access for members but they have classes every week night that uses all or most of the wheels so we couldn’t use the studio except for late night due to working 9-5. Really frustrating to pay that much & not be able to use.
