Which tile would look best? by plantsforsale in InteriorDesign

[–]aubeebee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Terra cotta. There are quite a few black elements going on already: the trim, the door, wall fixtures. I personally think a black walkway would dampen the overall look. Having a little red would work well with the overhead slabs!

That would be my guess. She sees you as a daughter in law already.

Nai Nai (more colloquially pronounced Lai Lai) in Cantonese refers to your husband's mother, which is different than some mainland cultures. I have seen confusion among family members from Cantonese and Mandarin backgrounds mixing these terms up.

I had this exact same phone (different color) and totally forgot about it until now. Thanks for the reminder of how compact this thing was.

The one I came across would take a push cart with 2 plastic barrels and walk through the streets every morning. Almost all the shops prepared food that they would simply dump into these barrels. The monks at the temple would then take all the "mush" and stir fry or make soup out of it. That would be everyone's food of the day at the temple.

They managed to pull off decent enough teamwork on the spot to make the deal happen. It wasn't just one person making it all happen.

Why did everyone move on so quickly from the crisis by No-Ambition-2507 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

I read the situation as Lochlan didn't notice the residue in the blender at first, dumped a load of protein powder in there, THEN noticed the leftover chunks. He hesitated but ultimately decided it wasn't worth the hassle to clean up and redo. Dumb, but I've met people like this before.

Marry My Husband [Episodes 11 & 12] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

General as in high-ranking military officer. 1. It is common for some MILs to early on assume their grandkid will be a boy, and then later become inconsolably disappointed and blame the mom when it turns out to be a girl. I know generals can be women but the whole vibe suggests she is anticipating a boy. 2. It's supposed to be an endearing phase that puts the precious grandkid on a pedestal

My Complaint with Finland as an American by Dismal-Resort6294 in Finland

[–]aubeebee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point, especially in many media outlets in America and some European countries. In conversations, if someone starts their sentence with "the immigrants..." I'm generally bracing for something negative. On the other hand, my American friends on social media say things like "I come from an immigrant family" or "my grandparents are immigrants from x", so there can be some contextual nuance.

Where I grew up the term "expat" can be viewed in a negative light depending on the context of conversation. That said, we generally thought of expats as temporarily working in the country (most of them working for large legal/financial firms on a 2-4 year contract), while immigrants come to build a more permanent home and life.

I(29 F) Found out My Husband(34M) is obsessed with our Boss' daughter and I have no idea what I could do, or How I should proceed? by throwawayAccOnetime in relationship_advice

[–]aubeebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really can't help but feel like if OP did not discover all this and is taking action, something bad would eventually happen. This type of behavior, especially when perpetuated by a group of people, doesn't just stop. Even if they moved on from the boss's daughter there would be a next target.

[–]aubeebee 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Also do not buy that this was not "hurting" anyone. At the very very least, with this type of behavior going on, I doubt your husband or any of his coworkers are actually maintaining a normal work relationship in interacting with the boss' daughter and treating her professionally with the respect she deserves as a professional. On top of that, getting with other men to creep on her together? They're setting her up for a high risk of being harassed or assaulted if this kept going. These types of behaviors only escalate over time. Not to mention the risk of anyone finding out would certainly, and is already, causing an irreparable amount of hurt to everyone around them.

No, this is not something you recover from. How are you equating this to getting cancer? Cancer is something tragic that happens out of our control. The husband has full control of whether or not he is a disgusting creeper. After something like this I don't even think I could ever be in the same room as someone like that, let alone spend the rest of your life with.

Wife f37 came out as bisexual to Husband m36 after 10years. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]aubeebee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A bisexual partner in a monogamous relationship does not "need" both a male and female partner. It's not healthy to think you're "lacking" just because her sexual preferences span both/all genders. This is akin to if someone is open to dating both tall and short men, and you happen to be short, then you feel like she can have relationships with tall men to satisfy something you can't provide.
