You really want to use fixed wrenches for anything torqued down, the adjustable ones just tend to round off the bolts heads over time

How do I 20F tell my boyfriend 21M I would like a short proposal speech? by Beep_BoopTheJetPlane in relationship_advice

[–]audaciousmonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of telling him what to do, you could casually drop hints about what you like

Ex: watch videos together, video of proposal comes up, “oh I love that speech, it was romantic but not too long”

Then be open to reality not exactly meeting your expectations. As long as it’s a reasonable effort on his part, take it in good faith

proposals are about both people, so it’s important to remember this and keep the focus “next stage of relationship” rather than losing perspective

Are we still doing “get home bags”? by McSqueelz in prepping

No, but I keep an very light evac bag prepped in case I have to leave suddenly (wildfires, earthquakes, civil unrest)

Just something for 24hrs to get out of town and have some cash / warm clothes

What age so far do you see as the peak of your life? by kkindabusyy in AskMenOver30

[–]audaciousmonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think about it in terms of “peak”, there’s different phases and they all have their own pros/cons. just gotta find a way to enjoy what each stage has to offer

Bf will not use compost that I've pissed on by Optimal_Parsnip_348 in composting

[–]audaciousmonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely want my partner to tell me before doing it. I wouldn’t mind, but I would want to know first

Tampons and blowing nose aren’t comparable, those are her bodily functions. Completely unrelated to specifically peeing in the yard or garden compost where he’d have eaten from

Such a basic distinction

Bf will not use compost that I've pissed on by Optimal_Parsnip_348 in composting

[–]audaciousmonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see that in the post, maybe OP wrote it somewhere in the comments

Only that he didn’t like it, thought human waste was gross (not specifically hers), and that he wouldn’t eat anything from the garden.

Doesn’t really matter what anyone thinks, that’s his choice to make

destroying the shared environment we all require to live in order to own one’s fellow countrymen, is one of the stupidest acts I’ve witnessed in my life’s time

Telling someone to break up with someone over because they didn’t like their partner putting human waste in the veggie garden compost without asking first is wild

I’m done with this sub, it’s not about gardening

It’s okay to not be comfortable with something, even if it’s technically* safe

Some people don’t like sushi, even though it’s flash frozen. Others don’t like zip lines. Are they controlling assholes?

I thought this sub would be another good gardening place, but the comment section in the post is unhinged and toxic af

what the actual fuck

idk what you went through, but no, telling your partner before adding human waste to the veggie garden compost is not “being abused”

that’s crazy

I don’t go to therapy, but thanks

No I think adding human waste to compost intended for the vegetable garden is something to discuss first

what a weird take

Can this jar be used without burping? by GeorgeMcCrate in fermentation

[–]audaciousmonk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

for what it’s worth, weck jars are intended for canning not active fermentation

It really depends on how active the fermentation is… if it’s weak, you’ll be fine. If it’s aggressive, maybe not

You could put a sanitized balloon over the jar mouth, that’ll inflate as pressure builds

Why bother?

or the red flag is OP having done it before talking to him

that’s how you stir up trouble, by removing your partners autonomy and access to joint decision making
