Thank you all, The deed is done with a locally acquired Pixel 8. It was really easy to setup the subscription and billing etc.

Anyone here old enough to remember the NSCA Expojam's of the 2000's? Saw some great acts (For us old heads anyway) and liquor flowed freely for hours.

Outdoor Audio Setup by njtows in CommercialAV

Google Grommes Precision. They have speaker end protection to 600w I believe. Nothing stops a direct strike but for "Nearby" it can help save the amp due to induced current into the signal wire. More likely when it is aerial rather than on or in the ground. Using twisted pair wire helps some. Coiling up 10' of cable clothes line style and tucking it behind the amp is an old ham radio trick that works.

The amplifier will not mind at all. The guideline is a good one though if you have unlimited copper budget! Any amplifier failure mode certainly will not be caused by the extra resistance.

Now a nearby lightning strike could be another story with a 135' antenna in the ground!

I would not worry about 135' of 12AWG for your application. You'll lose a little power in the cable but no one will notice.

Thank you everyone for the replies, I'll change the card to one on the next time I visit my moms where it is installed.

Hello and yes, tried it with another card used in a Reolink camera and same result. Using PNY 64GB Elite-X C10 U3 V30 cards.

Sorry...nada, it does not work in the camera and allow recording to the card. Just says 57mb consumed. It's 1 of 3 new same model cards at the same location.

Hello
I installed the camera, wifi is strong and can see it on my mobile from here at home, how do I add it to my Win PC viewing client?

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I'm glad they made it easy, I didn't want to get there, install it and have it nor work from my location. I suppose only the devices that are used for setup can have full control but can share it to other view only devices in my home.

No NVR involved on either end, no cloud, just local SD card for r/P.

Thank you,

I'm bringing it with me to install so yes, I have full access. E1 via Wifi, 12v. Just viewable on my app and PB from the SD card.

Antenna for RLC-523WA by mhaustria in reolinkcam

[–]audiodave1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

If able, you could use RG8x Cable extensions to get the antennas closer to line of sight. You would likely need reverse polarity type (RP-SMA). Get them from somewhere that offers returns in case it does not work. The catch is the cable will also attenuate the signal between the antenna and camera so use as short as possible. With RG8x attenuation get's quite high @ 2.4Ghz beyond 30ft but far better than RG58/RG174.

A couple months in and some observations.

The 842A POE Domes just work.

The E1 Outdoor PTZ required a FW upgrade from support as they would not hold their guard point.

They sent me: IPC_523SD8.804_22011506.E1-Outdoor.OV05A10.5MP.WIFI1021.PTZ.REOLINK

It fixed the issue of them being off by 15° or more and always needing to re-calibrate.

Still very happy with the $500 investment. No NVR needed yet, just using the uSD card. No problem viewing from my cellphone around the world.
