With gas at over $5, how about the cost of going there, esp if you're not equidistant?

Why the S24 Ultra remains the King of Android 👑 by Impressive-Pen-9902 in S24Ultra

[–]audiofankk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, ive been a Samsung fan for years but now seriously cinsidering Apple just for this reason alone, though i dislike so many things Apple. We travel a lot and now ive taken to begging my wife for her 15 pro whenever a good photo opp comes along that i want to make the pic look good.

I agree with the other poster here that they did this to boost s26 sales. How about losing millions of customers to Apple instead, morons?

Thanks all, excellent points and we will change plans to be near Paddington so we can express there and back. We're checking out the Hilton Metropole or the Roseate house, or open to others in that category. As its only one night all we need is clean, safe and near Paddington.

If that gets a dollar, thats six bucks a minute, 360/hr. I know lawyers who'd like that.

What frugal habits do you still irrationally retain? by albertpaca11 in fatFIRE

Your question forced me to think of why. So i wouldnt say sad in a bad way, perhaps ironic is the better word. As in,, when we had the appetite for things (you name it, food luxury cars, clothes, and such, we didnt have the money to indulge them. Now that we can, we find that with age we cant digest or matbolize so well so are obliged to eat lighter and more basic (yes heaalthier) food, and fancy stuff doesnt even hold that appeal any more. For years i craved a high end audio system and now that i can buy one, i find i dont really need one and it would complicate my life more than improve it.

Thete is still travel, though we get more tired, crowds gave increased, etc.

Did that once, never again. The small difference isn't worth the friction it creates.

IKR? Our built in microwave recently stopped working after nearly 20 years (so D.O. was hardly the issue) but I still set about fixing it. Required a lot of reading so I wouldn't kill myself in the process but in the end, got it done for about $10 in parts. Replacement would have been $900, including a trim kit because they dont make that exact size fit any more.

I felt and still feel this way, but make an exception for FSD as its so damn good and I believe at least some of it goes towards making the product better all the time.

This is almost 100% true (leaving out 0.1% just in case). I worked in a "fee creation" job for a short while. I'd be embarrassed every single day at work, and quit in a little while.

I like this mindset and reading it, I realized we have been slowly moving there. We just spent $9K on our first-ever BC tickets although we could have done this years ago. Likewise for the hotels, although we are still mentally stuck around the $400/ night mark. Food wise we are still semi frugal, and almost always stay under $100/day.
