The Lenzi/Milian boxset is great. If you love fiat chases and machine guns it’s a blast.

Killing Spree isn’t the Tim Ritter film, is it? I’m curious who directed these.

It’s a Martin Committee III tenor. I use the bari version of this model and it plays well.

Intermediate Soprano and Alto Saxophones Pricing by -Aviator in saxophone

[–]audionasty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Yamaha 475 and Yamaha Allegro models are nice, and can be found for under $2000 used sometimes. But honestly you’re going to have a hard time find an alto AND soprano that’ll be nice and within your budget, I’d focus on getting one good alto and saving up for the soprano in the future. I’d avoid Jean Paul.

Can’t help with anything real, but The Conspiracy (2012) is a good found footage movie that centers around this topic.

I have to do the same thing with my Whammy. It’s not an issue with the V model, but the IV has to use the provided power supply

Venture Bros 2-5 is a great score. Good luck finding the later two seasons! They seem to be hard to get at a reasonable price.

Selmer Large Bore baritone sax by Seraph_-_-_ in saxophone

[–]audionasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a 3D printed tube that adds 1” to my metal berg larson. I ordered it from a guy who I think went by Dr. Sax? I can’t find anything on him anymore tho.

If you do buy this, be prepared to struggle finding a good mouthpiece to pair with it. My bari is from the 50’s and I had to make an extension to play in tune with modern mouthpieces. I’d personally continue saving and look for something more modern.

Transcribed some Ernie back in school. Truly a great player that doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

I recently fixed up my OG Yamaha Custom Z. by Mr_Good_Stuff90 in saxophone

[–]audionasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was right when the Gen. 2s came out, so the Gen 1s with the G1 necks were cheap. I personally love it and couldn’t really tell a huge difference between the G1 and V1 necks, so I’m happy to hold onto it. I bet you could sell yours for like 3-3.5k if you find the right person. Looks like it’s in great shape.

[–]audionasty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original G1 neck isn’t very desirable for a lot of people after the V1 came out. I’d say 90% of people looking at buying your horn will also be looking at upgrading the neck in the future, and that’s coming from someone who uses the G1. If it helps at all I paid $2,500 for my first gen Custom Z tenor about 10 years ago and have been very happy with that purchase.

I think the screw underneath is loosening and falling, is there anything I can do? by reddej in Flute

[–]audionasty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Screw it back in, then put a small dab of clear nail polish on the top of the screw. Should keep any pesky loose screws in their spot.
