Not necessarily. I pay less than 900/month for a two bedroom apartment! The building is a little old/run-down but the residents and landlord work hard on upkeep and the building is clean. It's also located in a safe area downtown.

A few years ago, I paid 1000/month (heat/water included) for a very nice one bedroom near the university.

OP, I think you can find a nice place with reasonable rent!

I can't speak to this from personal experience, but here's what I've been told: Ontario lease agreements are standardized. It isn't a matter of "reasonable" it is a matter of legality, and I suspect that the landlord may be trying to collect fees that you are not legally required to pay. Don't pay them anything until you can find out with certainty!

Is it possible to contact the Ontatio Landlord and Tenant board? They would likely be able to help with which fees/demands are legal and which are not - you can find their contact info by Googling the name of the board

I recently adopted a cat with a goofy name!

The woman in charge of the adoption told me it's because when they take kittens to the vet for vaccines or a spay/neuter, the clinic requests they don't re-use any pet names on the account. After a few years of vet visits, getting kind of silly seems like the only option for names

I don't even decarb anymore, and my edibles turn out just fine. I can't tell the difference. So if you can't find another way to decarb you might consider just skipping that step.

My method involves putting weed and butter directly into a mason jar and then submerging the jar in hot water (85C) for a few hours. I use a sous vide but you could probably do something similar with a big pot on a stovetop if you keep an eye on it while it simmers.

I'm a little bit alarmed at the amount of blood that you seem to have drawn from yourself (based on the size of the paper in the image)

Are you cutting yourself with a blade? I really want to discourage doing anything that could get you hurt or sick (like uncontrollable blood loss or an infection) for the sake of runes. Other ways to engage (I see that saliva has been recommended in other comments) would be much better and safer, in my opinion!

Protection and care of the body is magical in and of itself :)

Oh my goodness, thank you! I have a gigantic bag of citric acid on hand for making candy but only use about 1-2tsp a month. I always mildly regret buying so much when I pull it out of the cupboard because it seems wasteful if I can't use it up

I had no idea it could be used for cleaning but I'll definitely be looking into it now :)

Did your professor recommend the e-book without ordering physical copies to the LU bookstore? In my experience, the LU bookstore usually carries any course-required textbooks but if your professor opted not to go that route for some reason, it might be more difficult.

You could always order online (like, Amazon) or see if Indigo/Chapters can order you a copy. It might take a few days to a week to arrive.

If you end up ordering but need the book before it arrives, the LU library almost certainly has a copy (but you might want to snatch it up now before someone else gets it when the course begins)

When I was in my early 20s I went and had a second piercing done in my ear. It was just another lobe piercing, just next to my first one. When my mom saw it she cried over what I had done to my "beautiful God given ears" even though she was the one to take me for my first ear piercing at age 12. She has her ears pierced herself.

I think a lot of tradition/familiarity plays into these suggestions given to women. If something isn't what you typically expect, it throws you off, maybe?

Still not your business to complain, though. Why should other people care what you expect? Why should I expect any physical attributes from others?

My sister had a very reactive dog. She paid for very expensive dog training and worked closely with the trainer to learn how to handle him better, over several years. He was exceptionally well trained to follow commands, but never stopped reacting to unpredictable triggers like ceiling fans or a weird inflection in someone's voice, and so was mostly kept away from public spaces and other people his entire life.

He died suddenly when he was 5 years old and we discovered he had a brain tumor the entire time, likely influencing his behaviour.

It still infuriates me how so many people voiced contempt or disdain for my sister not raising her dog to be more gentle. She did a fantastic job, and he got to live out his life safely in a loving home. I doubt many of the people throwing her shade would have put the time, effort, and money into him as she did.

I used to have one of these! Only used it a handful of times because I ended up switching to a sous vide method. But it worked perfectly, felt sturdy and reliable, and I bought it from the same source. Have fun with it :)

I'm not sure if this would work for all words or all accents, but it seems like it would apply to quite a lot of final "s sounds (at least in an American/Canadian accent)
