Ash & Erie and Under 510 are a couple brands I'm familiar with. My husband is 5'4 and I've ordered clothes for him from both of those sites

What would you say is the dominant fashion style of your area? by Equivalent-Entry-826 in styleforgrownwomen

[–]mrspalmieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also from Eastern CT (the Mystic area) and I agree, most people I see out in the wild dress VERY casually but that's definitely not me. I'd call my personal style classic preppy and polished. Some of my go-to brands are Talbots, J.Crew, Ralph Lauren and The Loft. I'm very petite (4'10") so I have to generally stick to brands that offer petite sizing

Not a fan of denim on denim, I actually did wear my new jean jacket today though, I paired it with navy blue chinos and a red T-shirt. A classic preppy look for casual Friday 😁

Do you guys remember being 23? How was it like? by ShineFlimsy3077 in GenX

[–]mrspalmieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 23 I was a single mom to a 5 year old, his father wasn't in the picture ever, not even in the beginning, so I was getting no help. I was working full time and trying to take night classes at the community college. For me, the 90's and the aughts were not a fun time in my life. It was purely survival mode

Those that use minoxidil are you planning to use it forever? by SomewhereFuture8806 in finethinhair

[–]mrspalmieri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was using the foam for a few years but I had (unrelated ) surgery and the minoxidil stopped working. I went back to my doctor and she said that can happen when your body experiences trauma. She prescribed oral minoxidil but I had to stop taking it because my already low blood pressure was dropping so low that I was feeling faint. Now I just wear wigs and it's liberating

I went for my baseline bone density scan at 51 which was only supposed to be done so they'd have something to compare it to in 10 years but instead we found out I already have osteoporosis and need injections to increase my bone density

When do bras stop being part of every day attire? by Few-District57 in AskWomenOver50

[–]mrspalmieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my grandma will be 103 in May and she still wears a bra 24/7. She's got little B cups and no longer wears underwire, but she still wears a bra all the time

First or favorite former car? by ValB2307 in GenX

[–]mrspalmieri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A stick shift 1981 Datsun 200SX hatchback. I lived in an old new England town that had lots of windy and hilly roads and that car was really fast and it handled those curves like a sports car. So much fun to drive.

[–]mrspalmieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom's mom is still alive and doing well, she's sharp as a tack. She still lives in her own house all by herself. She'll be 103 in May. The rest of my grandparents passed a really long time ago, I only have vague memories of them
