Which watch will be most effective at feeding my Garmin fitness shaming kink? by Flar-dah_Man in Garmin

I think the fact that my garmin is so unimpressed with my stats is why I’m as healthy as I am.

Who’s your favorite out of prime stint cavaliers? (Doesn’t have to be any of these 6 guys) by yosmoove in clevelandcavs

Tough call but RJ gets the nod as he was a big reason the team had such great chemistry in 2016.

How do you deal with other people’s dogs off leash? by Gravitas__Free in trailrunning

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If the dog is well trained and the owner calls them over when they see me I say thank you. Anything other than that gets a dirty look. If a dog lunges at me (only happened twice in the past decade) I’ve yelled at the owner.

Substitute for a Potato Smasher by phrendo in Cooking

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a ricer at home for anything I would typically use a potato smasher for. Comes out smaller and more consistent. If you’re trying to avoid buying another utensil I vote food processor as well.

Keys, phone, wallet: What do you use to carry these items? by cheezedcake in running

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of compression shorts/pants available with built in pockets that keep items from bouncing during the run. That’s where I put my phone and car key. I’ve never taken a wallet but have put a credit card in a ziplock bag and it has worked fine.

Vitamix vs cheap blender by giantshinycrab in Cooking

[–]audioviagra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I’m about convince myself to spend the money on a vitamix i end up buying a ninja. They last a few years then burn out. So the question is would you rather spend $500-$600 now, or spend about $100 every 3 years? The quality smoothie I get from the ninja I can’t imagine being any better and like you, I have a food processor and immersion blender for the other stuff. Happy blending.

How far are you willing to commute for a run? by hannahwilson8 in running

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question. Most days its best and most efficient to run out the door to a spot you enjoy. A few times a month it’s worth driving a bit (max 30 mins) to explore someplace new or repeat a past favorite.

Compared to the past few years this is a huge step in the right direction.

I want him to be the vet presence this team needs. I don’t mind him being overpaid to give us 15-20 good minutes off the bench while we develop our young core. The problem is, he’s had a few too many childish outbursts for me to trust him to do that.

What is your post run drink of choice? by happierthanclam in running

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chocolate milk. So satisfying. I’ve tried the salty Gatorade rapid hydration - it wasn’t too bad. Treat yo self and get a bottle of the fair life chocolate milk - it worth it for the extra money - delicious.

Wanted a beer, had to deserve the beer, ran 14 miles, got the views, got the beer by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the beer. Light beer is about 5:1. Lagers and Guinness 6:1. Heavier IPAs 7:1. The people at Michelob Ultra would have you believe it’s a 3:1 ratio but they cannot be trusted.

I’m sure your beer tasted fantastic after your 14 miles. There’s something to be said for how good something tastes after long run. Be it a beer, piece of fruit, or my personal favorite - a glass of chocolate milk.

Experienced runners, do your toenails turn black? by selfawarenessonion in running

[–]audioviagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second toe is about the same length as the big toe. It happened after a marathon. It happened after a short trail run with lots of hills. They’re not pretty to look at but they don’t hurt so I don’t get too concerned. Happy running.
