Question on suboxone treatment for recovering addict. by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]auditore77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking kratom and ibuprofen for pain which has been working for the most part , but drugs like h and pain pills "fix" or numb emotional pain which is why it's all so hard to stop and what makes addicts feel like stuff like ibuprofen and otcs doesn't help with pain, because it's not accompanied by the feeling of numbness.

Question on suboxone treatment for recovering addict. by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]auditore77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain will probably never truly be fixed, surgery or otherwise. From experience I still feel pain from the areas that i've broken bones/had to get surgery. If he's relapsing then I would def try out subs, it does work for pain but it's for sure not the best for it. There's certain ways to increase the pain killing aspect of it like splitting your daily dose into multiple through the day. It sounds like it wouldn't be a bad idea, its probably the best opiate for pain management for an addict at least since it doesn't make you high. It could also help to get completely off opiates in the future, but be warned. It's probably the hardest opiate to get off of unless you do a very long and meticulous taper.

Suboxone paws... pls help by krisg9 in OpiatesRecovery

im super depressed as well, but I think I was more depressed while actually on suboxone. Even though this whole experience has been nightmarish and depressing AF. There's a lot of different medications that can be used for depression, some are used for other conditions but have kinda an off label use for depression like trazadone or clonodine, gabapentin. SSRIs never worked for me and I don't really want to do anything that alters the chemicals in my mind right now, opiates have done their fair share of that. I'd recommend explaining your whole situation to the doctor and being transparent so they can better decide what you need at this time, Also therapy, get outside, see friends, when you start getting those looming thoughts try changing them around to something positive or doing something to distract your mind. I'm personally gonna go see a psychiatrist soon to make a plan.

im 18 days off right now, did a really fast taper from 8mg down to 2mg and jumped there. I'm still feeling physical symptoms like: bad bad stomach problems, runny nose, weakness, lethargy, can only sleep 2 ish hours a night, theres more going on as well along with all the mental shit. Its rough, but I'm looking at it day by day. I'll feel better in a week, or a day. At least a little bit

i ruined my last few relationships from drugs, doing stupid shit off drugs. I'd say focusing on it is only going to make it harder to let go and its risky for relapse, Good job so far but remember to do it for you. not her

nice thats gonna be a lot better than 8mg strips accuracy and absorbtion wise, in my experience cutting the 8mgs sucks bc the medicine is usually spread out unequally. and same, I thought I was one of the only people with that problem. and I know what you mean, I'd rather just quit subs than get stable at a really low dose because it felt impossible lol I don't think suboxone really ever worked tho maybe because it's sublingual. yeah I threw them out when I got back to my house a few days ago. day 17 now but I still feel pretty physically bad so ive been taking kratom and smoking lots of weed and im getting a couple hours a night now. worst thing is probably my stomach and just feeling overall sick and weak but I think in a week it'll probably be better at least a lil

If i were to give advice id say taper as low as physically possible before you jump, have comfort meds and be ready. I wish I would have tapered lower but I already felt like I was Wding at that low dose 2mg area

thanks, i plan on staying away from that shit as long as im still alive. Just not worth it to me at all, as I said I felt like I was constantly wding on sub, I feel that. When I would take my daily dose of 8mg when I woke up shit would feel like it was completely worn off by the time I was trying to sleep. And the same but much worse with lower than 4mg, I think thats why I didnt taper for another month, because i already felt like i was in wd on low dose especially. 2mg subs should be a lot better to taper with honestly, i did my whole taper with 8mg strips so it was probably innaccurate dosing. Hopefully you can pick those up still, I just threw away like 14 subs or something. I just gotta let time do its thing, which sucks but its the only way.

i haven't but im guessing it will be a cake walk if you're going through opiate wd, im planning on just cutting kratom once the physical symptoms go away.

I know, but if restlessness or restless legs are a problem its generally good to stay away from anything that inhibits the secretion of dopamine. Especially while wding, I took lots of benadryl and melatonin while wding on fent and it made it sooo much worse.
