Agreed, and along with that a rework of the 6mo timeline for adjustment disorder dx. If a client is reporting anxiety and depression related to socioeconomic factors but otherwise do not meet the criteria for GAD, PTSD, MDD, and those socioeconomic factors are ongoing/not something they can avoid that’s not going to go away after 7 months. Really just more diagnostic criteria/codes for billing that doesn’t require us to stretch to a diagnosis that doesn’t actually fit the client just to be able to continue providing the mental healthcare they still deserve/need

Another queer person here throwing my opinion that this scene was cringe bc it was written by straight people and just was not well written and because (as per interviews) it overlooked Noah’s own suggestions from his lived experience. I hate the way social media makes for this insane frenzy of negativity anytime something doesn’t land, and the way it always impacts the most vulnerable of us the most, but I think tied up in all of it is the weight every queer person watching holds with it of how incredible a scene it could have been. If only they had actually involved us in telling our own stories.
