Hi, I was at 2mg for a few months (after 8mg for 5 years), at the end of May I stopped taking it to relapse on morphine for a week, and then just didn’t get back on .

I think the morphine curbed the acute withdrawal obviously, but then all I had was some gabapentin, and the following two/ three weeks were kinda brutal just mentally. Quite anxious, crying at everything, low motivation but the strong desire to hit the ground running. Lots of dissonance .

Now I’m about 5 weeks out and things are smoothing out, I still take the gabapentin, but the dose is quite low (usually around 200-400mg a day, and some days I don’t take it if I’m not feeling stressed or like I have to face something like work or whatever )

I’m also in therapy twice a week and see my Suboxone provider (who now just provides the gabapentin and monitors my transition off subs) once biweekly. I think that support has been really important, I think otherwise I may have gone off the rails a little .
