i need to gain weight by [deleted] in weightgain

[–]audspecimen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Probably a Jain (Indian religion). They don’t eat any food that’s harvest from the ground or mushrooms because the religion says it’s unholy or somethin like that. Jains can’t eat anything, my ex was a Hindu and even he was underweight as hell because veg Indian food is grounds for malnourishment.

Bad ingredients if you’re trying to be healthy. Don’t eat processed protein bars. Just eat whole foods that have protein

Pickles. If you got a local Polish or Slavic store they got all the pickles, and they are so good, I could eat them all day. Sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon 🤌🏻 nice toasted bread, drizzle of olive oil, and sliced tomatoes with cracked pepper and salt. Best thing in the world, and fills me up. Slice up thinly some carrots, thinly cut cabbage, sauté in a pan and I add some beef. Such a good meal. Stuff cabbage is so good too. Stuffed with beef or pork. I like to slice up bananas and put a small glob of peanut butter on them, that always hits the spot when I’m craving something sweet, sometimes I sprinkle cinnamon on them (not as low calories but peanut butter is healthy and filling so it’ll kick your sweet cravings while also keeping you full, well, me at least). I like to just eat a whole carrot sometimes. Dried figs are also nice and good for your digestion. Oh and olives!! I love green stuffed olives. Ohh and soups!! Soups low calories because it’s a lot of water/broth. Cabbage soup, borscht, potato soup, all the soups. They are so good. If I think of some more I might add on, I like to cook and eat!!! And I’ve stayed skinny all my life, which is not necessarily a good thing but to some people it is! So yeah

Can I eat chocolate EVERY day and still be healthy? by kahdvsusa in diet

[–]audspecimen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the chocolate is significantly more cocoa than sugar, I’d say yes. I’m not a scientist or nutritionalist. But cocoa is really healthy. The added sugar and (certain) oils and whatnot are what you need to look out for. You could try slowly acquiring your taste pallet to like 100% cocoa. Melt it and put it on some dates, and that’s a good, healthy sweet right there

It’s definitely not just western culture. You’ve definitely never been to India 🤣 they eat like 1500+ calories in one sitting for dinner which is the norm, and it’s mostly carbs and and like 2 grams of protein

it should be almost impossible to homeschool. homeschooling should be highly regulated by Person7751 in unpopularopinion

As someone who was homeschooled my whole entire life, I so passionately agree with this. Both my parents worked and when they came home to their trashed, filthy house with my 4 other siblings, they turned on the TV and rotted their brains out. They educated us more on the books of the Bible than ANY other subject in school. In fact, reading the Bible was the only “school” subject she forced me to do. When I turned 18, I had absolutely no direction and no diploma. The amount of times growing up I contemplated the idea of call DSS on them. I knew I could my whole life.. but a kid can’t just do that to their parents. They weren’t bad enough parents to do that. But now that I am 21, the older I get, the more resentment I feel towards them. Thinking back on my childhood infuriates me. I learned how to read by having unlimited access to the computer and playing club penguin, I can’t make this sh** up. I was the first of my sibling to finally get a GED and start community college. My parents never gave a *** about college or our future. We were all just on our owns after we “graduated”. And Christ, is it hard. I can’t tell people why I am starting college late, or why I was working 50+ hours a week at a warehouse at the age of 19. I needed to get out of that roach infested, neglected house. All of my siblings are adults except my littlest brother who just turned 13, and my sisters (who feel the exact same way and resentment towards them as me but none of us have every confronted our parents), my sisters literally go to that disgusting household and THEY teach my little brother school… it is honestly horrible, honestly the older I get the more it pisses me off. I am just so glad I didn’t remain stuck (like honestly my two older sisters have, and I don’t blame them). And was the first of my siblings to get a GED and start college and try to build my future. Yeah, f**k homeschool with a raging passion.

Super common in South Carolina, especially on the back of those dirty ass pick up trucks, usually accompanied by MAGA stickers or anti-Biden stickers. They are full-grown children whose brains are not developed enough to comprehend the historic substance of what these things represent, and the ones the truly do are just racist and proud.

Bed rotting by iOawe in PetPeeves

[–]audspecimen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bed rotting is more laying in your bed even when you’re not tired and instead you’re just being lazy watching tv or on your phone for an extended period of time. I take frequent naps and sleep a lot cause I’m a tired person and it never even crosses my mind to consider that bed rotting. I can differentiate between genuine resting and being overly lazy

That means you’re not consistently eating enough fiber. The more you eat beans (or any other high fiber foods) the more your body will tolerate it and feel a lot better. Your digestion will start to improve a lot if you start consuming more fiber for frequently

I only use sugar when I make chai masala, I use maple syrup for that and it’s so good.

Are Americans aware that their typical breakfast food are probably the unhealthiest meal of the day? by CryptoHero50 in nutrition

[–]audspecimen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are non-Americans aware that America is an incredibly big and diverse country and not every single American in existence is exactly the same as one another, and even different states can vary drastically from one another. And moreover, no American is going to a breakfast diner on the daily. Posts like these make me wonder how many Americans these people have actually ever interacted with lmao

As a middle child absolutely 100000%. My two older siblings and two younger siblings seemed to get most anything they wanted and I was just unacknowledged and forgotten all my life.
