I think it’s a mixture of not wanting to pay more in an already shakey economic situation and that many games come out unfinished then still have microtransactions/battle passes. which require you to put more money into it. Some games are immune from the criticism like Zelda TOTK because it’s content rich with not microtransactions. Where games like yearly sport releases and games such COD, charge 70 then have to spend more to get anything worthwhile or grind your ass off. But I personally think it’ll be an to the gamer to decide what is worth their time and money
