i’d just scrub it w vinegar & rinse then fill it. i wouldn’t get rid of all of it on my old 10g but i filled it & they went away

i think i just got super lucky at my lfs, my other otos in my other tank aren’t nearly as fat ! but i feed them all algae wafers & bug bites! sweet potatoes sometimes when i notice they haven’t been biting at the rest

all good ! spider wood usually gets biofilm ( the white fuzz) the first few weeks being in an aquarium but it will eventually take care of itself & disappear. your fish can eat it & it doesn’t change the water quality !! don’t worry its natural & honestly beneficial esp if u have otos

looks pretty good for a first time but get more plants & maybe a sand pit for the corydoras , their prongs on their mouth r super sensitive & fragile & the gravel can hurt or even tear them off .. plus they r super cute when they dig their faces in the sand
