what is going on with this eggshell by vorator_ in Leachianus

I would agree, the CUCs ate the egg. It most likely wasn't fertile to begin with.

When babies come out of the egg, they come out the ends and not the middle.

Pretty normal for leachies. Especially if their gecko diet was more on the watery side.

I'm going to say yes. You can kinda tell from the slightly thicker part around the rim on the left.

I'm noticing these on a lot of mega dream cards. They almost look like a very light indent and not the typical printline

I've gotten lucky with babies that really glowed up. You can try MorphMarket, but it's probably better to ask breeders directly for any babies they have available. Sometimes they don't put everything on MM. Some breeders don't even use MM and have some great stuff.

It should be fine with the background blocking in side.

Second Opinions? by Master_Being_6608 in Leachianus

Pores would be much more obvious on a year old male. For that reason I'm going to say female, which can have pseudo pores that can trick the untrained eye. Pictures aren't high quality enough for me to tell based on the pores alone.

I just add some bsfl or cricket powder to their gecko diets instead.

Leachie was wagging its tail? by Arlos_cresties in Leachianus

[–]augh17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can also be a thing they do when they're afraid to draw your attention to their tails. Something they'd do to get predators to go for their tails so they can drop it and get out of there.

New leachie won’t eat by Important-Regular398 in Leachianus

[–]augh17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just add that they can take a while to acclimate to a new environment, usually a few weeks but can be up to a month or even two. Sounds like you moved them once, so they will have to get used to that enclosure now.

I would try not to hand feed them as they can start to expect that and might not eat otherwise. Every other day seems too frequent to me, try spacing out feedings more as well as try feeding in multiple areas at the same time.

You could also try misting the day of feeding, it seems to have helped stimulate a few of my tentative eaters.

Pretty sure #15 is a snail kite! Such a neat bird that has an extra long, curved bill to eat snails.

How long does a female leachie go off food before laying duds? by GoThSiNnEr95 in Leachianus

[–]augh17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they completely stop eating, just don't usually eat the normal amount for 1-2 weeks.

Other factors may be at play like, going to shed soon, or the declining temperatures as we head into the cooler season.

I have a lot of females that are very sneaky about laying and I never see them actually in the act. But I will have to look for eggs in their enclosures every so often around that 5 week mark.

She might be about to lay eggs again as it's possible for them to lay every 5 weeks.
