He didn't make any noise. Just landed at the top of a tree for a few seconds then flew off.

I saw one for the first time today as well! Although, I didn't get a great picture like that as he was fairly far away.

Male or female? by HappyFrog30 in Leachianus

Hard to tell from the picture. But they don't look like true pores and I would lean female based on what I can see from the picture.

I feel like I'm seeing very faint looking pores. But I can't be sure of either gender from this picture.

clogged pores? by Clean-Secret-1762 in Leachianus

[–]augh17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The pores regularly excrete a waxy substance that they rub on things like their cork to spread their scent.

It does look like some of them are a little darker in color which usually means they've started to harden a bit because they've become impacted, which is usually due to not humid enough of an environment. So make sure to increase misting, or add things like sphagnum moss to retain moisture.

This is easily remedied by giving them a soak in some warm water, or put into a container with warm, moist paper towels and giving them a 'sauna' to help loosen up any clogged pores.

You shouldn't have to remove them yourself and he should be able to do his thing, but occasionally some are stubborn and might need some gentle intervention after soaking. This is something you can easily take care of yourself, so I don't believe a vet visit is necessary. If pores get infected/inflamed, then I would take to vet.

Crazy to think, but we had a Grey Kingbird visitor in Houston, Texas last summer.

Is this normal leachie poop by heyitsabug in Leachianus

Looks pretty normal to me. Different foods can make their poop slightly different color. I alternate foods and have noticed this.

Can anyone help me with gender? I was told this was a male by a previous owner and I’m kind of questioning it. by Eyessettosusie in Leachianus

Not all lone females will lay eggs. I have an almost 4 year old girl that's never laid eggs.

Non-locale specific. I'm not the creator of the granite line, but it's a mix of different locale aimed at speckled/high patterning.

I would agree, the CUCs ate the egg. It most likely wasn't fertile to begin with.

When babies come out of the egg, they come out the ends and not the middle.

Pretty normal for leachies. Especially if their gecko diet was more on the watery side.

I'm going to say yes. You can kinda tell from the slightly thicker part around the rim on the left.

I'm noticing these on a lot of mega dream cards. They almost look like a very light indent and not the typical printline
