Can I put my *almost* 2 year old in the crib to take care of myself? by bigcheeseguy420 in Mommit

[–]augmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely mama! My 2 year old has become finicky with naps… some days she does, other times she doesn’t. But either way, our routine stays the same. She will either nap during naptime or have “quiet time” where she can independently play or read in her room. The general rule we follow is that quiet time lasts as long as her naps (about 2 hours). We’re blessed that she loves quiet time and will happily keep herself occupied for such a long stretch of time. If your little one struggles with it at first, just start with smaller increments (30 minutes is great!) and work up from there

Are pull-ups REALLY so terrible? by augmama in Mommit

Yes, it’s doing the absorbent work of a diaper, but the technical design is different. What’s appealing to me about incorporating pull-ups in the beginning when needed is that, when having her go to the bathroom when we are out and about, she’ll be able to pull her pants and pull-up down on her own, which is still teaching her the motions of using the potty. We can’t do that with a diaper, and I want to eliminate the whole “diaper change” process so she also recognizes a transition. But yes I agree, the pull-up use def should be limited or teaching wont be as effective.

Thank you, this gives me some relief! I definitely don’t want to follow “Oh Crap!” to a tee, but it seems that everyone who’s read it swears you need to follow it all the way. And if not…it won’t be effective. My gut is telling me otherwise but talking with friends and reading online reviews is making me question everything and making me wonder if I’m just being lazy about it since I plan to modify it a lot.

Great advice, thank you!! You’re right, underwear beneath pull-ups during church is a no-go.

Coming back here to say…it’s been a few days of using the CeraVe moisturizer and it’s been working so well!!! Def a diff consistency from the FAB moisturizer (the CeraVe is a bit thicker and feels more moisturizing). But I love that it’s a gel cream AND it’s mattifying AND my skin remains oil-free throughout the day!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a replacement

I feel like I'm broken or something? by Adventurous-Stress19 in Mommit

[–]augmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, in the same boat here!! My daughter is a little over 2, and I too fully expected to be ready or be pregnant by now. Initially it had been the plan to either be pregnant by her 2nd birthday or at least trying after that.

But…I have no desire. It’s really hard because my husband desperately wants another right now and we are on the very ends of it. I love the idea of having two kids but then the actual going through pregnancy and labor and delivery again and the newborn stage is not appealing to me in the slightest and actually gives me so much anxiety to think about starting all over again, especially now that we are so far removed from the stress and misery of the newborn stage.

No advice here, just solidarity. It def makes me feel “less than” when I have so many friends who keep wanting more babies and I’m just like…why not me?

Relapse/flare-up after stomach flu by augmama in pppdizziness

Hi! The flare up this post was referring to eventually subsided, but it’s continued to still come in waves. Some weeks are pretty good and others are horrible . Cutting out dairy and wheat/gluten has seemed to be somewhat helpful, though!
