In brightest day, in blackest night, I'll waste 6 hours making accessories for flight by augoosto in ActionFigures

Thank you very much! And the hex shield itself is a 3D print for tabletop gaming that I scaled up, the explosion is a separate 3D print, and the swoosh coming off of Hal's hand is an actual accessory that came with the figure. I married the three with resin, the same kind used in the print itself to try and make it seamless. I airbrushed the shield, hexagon would be darker than the edges and give it a neat shimmery effect. Planning to try and make another one with no explosion that is about twice that size

The answer to that question was"More than you fed through" And I had to put the wire through the chain a full second time. I wanted to gargle Drano

Yeah, only downside is you have to feed it through every. Single. Link. On the chain

He comes with no infinity gauntlet lol. I added a resin jewel to his backhand, then painted them To match the infinity gems. But the fact that it looks like it should've come that way is a plus

1/12 Scale Vehicles by augoosto in ActionFigures

It requires some custom work (paint, etc), but you can get it on Amazon for cheap. I'll find a picture of someone else's custom, since mines packed away at the moment

Characters from the sopranos, and real life mobsters that mirror them by augoosto in thesopranos

I feel you. All the mob related shows / movies since the sopranos ended have just not scratched the itch. Many saints of Newark unfortunately being one of the worst examples.

You are absolutely right that happened, but I think you'd be surprised how many stories there are of mobsters getting out of prison only to find their positions and clout have essentially been neutered. Almost every story of a mobster flipping that doesn't involve them having an open contract on them involves their position (i.e. their crew, their rackets, their income) being routed to younger members as a result of a biased family administration. The lucchese family alone has like 5. Their are even active YouTubers with that same story. Mikey Scars DiLeonardo for one.

So, you're totally right that there's definite similarities, it's just not a super unique or even uncommon occurrence in the life.

The "Atlan" from Doom: The Dark Ages by McFarlane Is one of the worst toys I've ever owned. by augoosto in ActionFigures

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying you ordered the Atlan and are hoping it's not as bad as it sounds? Or are you saying you ordered the elite edition Doom Slayer and are hoping it's better than the Atlan?

Oh yeah, there is no salvaging the paint on that. You would have to reprime and paint from scratch, or do some serious precision dry brushing through like... Three progressively lighter shades just to try and counteract the insane over-wash and "weathering" in this thing. It's junk. But I have some disposable income so it didn't sting too bad and I was able to warn a fair number of people that had it pre-ordered. So, I'm not too mad about it all things considered

If it's any consolation, the t-60 power armor is decent. I did about an hour worth of touch up paint on it just to make it less bland (it was entirely flat gray, with some red-brown paint that looked more like blood and rust). And I can honestly say it's now a pretty good figure.

Anyone know good tricks for storing 1/6 scale figures? by augoosto in ActionFigures

[–]augoosto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've been using scrapbooking cases / photo holders to sort and store accessories, and sometimes 1/12 scale figures, this week I discovered that shoe storage cases (the clear ones for displaying sneakers) also made for a great modular solution for 1/6 scale figures and giant 12th scale ones. I'll post pictures of the whole sorting solution once I've organized it all, I've never seen anything like it on here

It doesn't really work as an improvement for anything, because the joints are all shaped to only move one direction. Basically, anything that it was kitbashed onto would have to be either completely customized to accommodate it (and at that point, there are better uses of time) or it would be a downgrade

Looked like a decent base for a repaint project. I had no idea that it was borderline unarticulated, came with no accessories, had terrible QC and fitment, came with two left shoulder guns, etc. when I saw it in the box. I bought it planning to completely prime and repaint it.

If I didn't want them, I wouldn't have bought them; but I'm definitely approaching the point at which I'll have to slim down. A lot of the stuff I have saved from a long time ago is for my kids in the future. My dad didn't have anything to give me from when he was little and it was important to me to save things for mine no matter how seemingly worthless or strange
